Perrin se fraye un chemin à travers la foule pour parler à Rand et Mat, exprimant sa crainte que la guerre du Faux Dragon et la présence des Aes Sedai n'apportent la destruction aux Deux-Rivières. Il confirme sa propre vision du cavalier mystérieux et partage l'anxiété du groupe alors qu'ils affrontent la colère de Nynaeve.
Chapter 4 - The Gleeman
Perrin / Perrin Aybara — aliases: lad (garçon de chienne)
Perrin écoute Thom Merrilin et confirme ses voyages dans la Fange et les Montagnes de Brume. Il accepte de rejoindre les patrouilles de garde si Maître Luhhan le permet, et aide Rand à planifier la recherche de plus de témoins du cavalier noir.
Chapter 10 - Leavetaking
Perrin — aliases: blacksmith (forgeron)
Perrin cache sa hache sous sa cape jusqu'à ce que Rand l'interroge, puis explique que Maître Luhhan la lui a donnée. Il se dispute avec Egwene au sujet de la réalité des Trollocs et suit Lan hors du village.
Chapter 11 - The Road to Taren Ferry
Perrin
Perrin chevauche avec le groupe, partageant le désir de repos et de tarte. Il chevauche de près avec les autres pendant le vol à travers le brouillard.
Chapter 12 - Across the Taren
Perrin
Perrin is exposed by Lan at the landing and presents his axe to the ferryman. He comments on the width of the Taren and later asks to rest before the group finds their hiding spot, where he listens to the explanation of channeling with a look of dread regarding the Red Ajah.
Chapter 13 - Choices
Perrin
Perrin travels with the group, learning axe fighting from Lan. He expresses disbelief at the sight of Baerlon and carries Mat’s bow while discussing the Whitecloaks with the gatekeeper Avin.
Chapter 14 - The Stag and Lion
Perrin
Perrin accompagne le groupe aux bains, notant que les installations sont presque aussi bonnes que celles de l'auberge Winespring Inn, chez eux, et contribue presque à la conversation dangereuse sur les Trollocs avant que Thom n'intervienne. Il rejoint le repas privé et écoute les rapports recueillis par Lan, restant silencieux et observateur.
Chapter 15 - Strangers and Friends

Perrin reste au lit à cause du cauchemar, rencontre Rand et Mat pour discuter du rêve, puis se précipite pour leur annoncer l'arrivée de Nynaeve.
Chapter 16 - The Wisdom

Perrin conduit le groupe vers la salle de réunion avec hésitation et demande à Nynaeve quelle a été la réaction de Maître Luhhan face à son départ, avant d'attendre à l'extérieur pendant que Moiraine s'entretient avec la Sagesse.
Chapter 17 - Watchers and Hunters

Perrin danse et chevauche avec le groupe, demandant à Mat s'il avait dansé avec la Sagesse et la maîtresse Alys. Il chevauche à l'arrière pendant la fuite et s'inquiète de la sécurité de ses amis.
Chapter 18 - The Caemlyn Road

Perrin fights alongside the group, shouting the warcry and struggling against three Trollocs that have him pinned. He observes the ruined city and points out the collapsed nature of its walls, noting the lack of inhabitants.
Chapter 19 - Shadow’s Waiting
Perrin
Perrin accompanies the boys into the city, retrieves an axe from the treasure pile, helps restrain Mat from taking the gold, and confirms the group's flight as Mordeth vanishes and the shadowy watchers close in.
Chapter 20 - Dust on the Wind
Perrin
Perrin navigue avec soin parmi les ruines et rencontre Egwene à la porte avant qu'ils ne soient chassés dans la rivière. Il nage seul jusqu'à la rive opposée, tremblant et terrifié, incapable de retrouver Egwene parmi les Trollocs de l'autre côté.
Chapter 22 - A Path Chosen

Perrin wakes up under a pile of cedar branches, retrieves his axe, and cautiously surveys the Arinelle River before following horse tracks to find Egwene. He takes charge of their situation, proposing they travel inland to Caemlyn to wait for Moiraine, and initiates the departure by kicking out their fire despite Egwene's protests about his wet clothes.
Chapter 23 - Wolfbrother

Perrin partage le fardeau de guider Egwene et de monter Bela, tend des pièges qui échouent, et capture avec succès un lapin avec sa fronde. Il explore prudemment le camp d'Elyas, accepte de la nourriture, et finit par avouer leur véritable histoire à Elyas après que les loups aient exposé le mensonge d'Egwene, choisissant ensuite de poursuivre son voyage vers Caemlyn malgré l'offre d'Elyas de rejoindre la meute.
Chapter 25 - The Traveling People

Perrin voyage avec Egwene et Elyas, s'appuyant sur son lien instinctif avec les loups pour connaître leur position. Il remet en question la philosophie de non-violence du Tinker Raen, arguant que la violence est parfois nécessaire pour protéger les faibles, et réconforte plus tard Egwene en pleurs en confirmant que Rand et Mat sont en vie.
Chapter 27 - Shelter From the Storm

Perrin s'inquiète de la lenteur des Tuatha'an et discute avec Egwene de la question de rester ou de fuir. Chapter 30 - Children of Shadow

Perrin stands by the pool with Elyas, struggling with his hate for his axe and his connection to the wolves, before Elyas leads the group to hide in the stedding with Egwene and Bela. He hides under Artur Hawkwing's statue with Egwene, sensing the approaching Children of the Light. When Hopper attacks to save him, Perrin screams and attacks the riders with his axe, then wakes up bound in Bornhald's tent, listening to Bornhald's interrogation and Byar's threats, where Bornhald declares that a gibbet waits for Perrin in Amador.
Chapter 33 - The Dark Waits

Chapter 38 - Rescue

He later has his bruises healed by Nynaeve and learns from Lan that his connection to the wolves may be the work of the Dark One, though Lan clarifies the ability itself is ancient.
Chapter 41 - Old Friends and New Threats

Perrin reunites with the group, appearing subdued with eyes that have turned slightly yellow. He sits by Mat's bed, stating that it would be better if they were all dead to stop bringing pain to others.
Chapter 42 - Remembrance of Dreams
Perrin
Perrin sits quietly with amber-colored eyes, displaying a resigned demeanor. He breaks the silence to ask Loial about the stedding havens and later connects the Tinkers' story of the Eye of the World with Ba'alzamon's threats. He confirms that the Dark One intended to use them and notes his own potential protection through his connection to the wolves.
Chapter 43 - Decisions and Apparitions

Chapter 46 - Fal Dara
Perrin
Perrin accompanies the group, noting the silence of the refugee-filled streets of Fal Dara. He rides through the town and sits in Lord Agelmar's study, listening to the grim report on the Trolloc wars and the arrival of Fain.
Chapter 47 - More Tales of the Wheel
Perrin
Perrin stares unblinkingly at crumbs on the table, his yellow eyes distant. He recalls Fain's strange lingering in the Two Rivers and listens to the confirmation that Fain was compelled to hunt them for years.
Chapter 48 - The Blight
Perrin
Perrin chevauche avec le groupe, restant à l'aise dans son manteau tandis que les autres luttent contre la chaleur oppressante et l'humidité, et faisant preuve d'une nouvelle attitude féroce avec des yeux jaunes incandescents. Il aide à installer le campement et se tient aux côtés de Rand et Mat, stupéfaits par la vue de la créature dans le lac.
Chapter 49 - The Dark One Stirs

Perrin rides with the group, his golden eyes glowing fiercely. He takes the lead on horseback, using his axe to hew a path through the attacking forest and creatures. He avoids the Green Man's gaze initially, turning his horse away, before the Green Man acknowledges him as a Wolfbrother.
Chapter 50 - Meetings at the Eye

Perrin enters the sanctuary feeling the Green Man's peace but remains wary of the Dark One's influence. He draws his axe in defense of Nynaeve against the Forsaken but is thrown back by Aginor's power. He manages to stand and runs with the group as they flee the cavern.
Chapter 52 - There Is Neither Beginning Nor End

Perrin apporte un grand paquet de tissu blanc contenant l'étendard du Dragon. Il exprime le vif désir de rentrer chez lui et s'interroge sur la destination d'Illian, dévoilant ses yeux jaunes et affichant un visage stoïque.
Chapter 53 - The Wheel Turns
Perrin
Perrin brings up the rear with his axe across the pommel of his saddle. Later, Mat asks Moiraine how they struck a blow to the Shadow, and she replies that they must sleep. Moiraine then shows the Horn of Valere to Lord Agelmar in his study, stating that it must be carried to Illian, leaving the Lord looking disappointed that the Horn's place is not in the Borderlands.
