Le maître Hightower est un passeur au visage étroit qui refuse initialement de traverser dans le brouillard. Lan le corrompt avec de l'or et il part réveiller ses bêtes de trait pour emmener le groupe de l'autre côté de la rivière.

Chapter 12 - Across the Taren

Hightower — aliases: the ferryman (le passeur), Master Hightower

Master Hightower meets the group at the ferry landing, suspicious and clarifying the payment terms before allowing them to board. He guides the ferry across the river, panics when the vessel is destroyed, and flees into the mist after Lan pays him off, followed by his terrified helpers.
