Zarine / Mandarb / Zarine Bashere / Faile — aliases: girl (fille), Hunter of the Horn (Chasseur de la Corne)
Zarine Bashere saute sur le Cygne des Neiges, révèle qu'elle est une Chasseuse du Cor cherchant le Cor dans les Montagnes de Brume, et adopte les noms de Mandarb et Faile pour ses voyages, insistant pour accompagner le groupe de Perrin.
Chapter 36 - Daughter of the Night
Zarine
Zarine sits on a coil of rope near the railing, sharpening a knife and watching Perrin walk by.
Chapter 41 - A Hunter’s Oath
Zarine / Faile — aliases: falcon (faucon), Hunter of the Horn (Chasseur de la Corne)
Zarine, insistant pour qu'on l'appelle Faile, négocie avec audace sa place au sein du groupe en jurant un serment de Chasseur à Moiraine de suivre les ordres et de ne poser aucune question. Elle tente ensuite de monter sur le cheval de Perrin, ce qui l'oblige à la hisser sur le dos de Stepper.
Chapter 42 - Easing the Badger
Zarine — aliases: the falcon (le faucon)
Zarine voyage avec le groupe, se moquant de la timidité de Perrin et mangeant son poisson avec dégoût. Elle récupère un couteau sur un Homme Gris mort lors du combat et argue avec Moiraine de son manque d'informations concernant le danger auquel ils font face.
Chapter 43 - Shadowbrothers
Zarine / Faile — aliases: girl (fille), Hunter of the Horn (Chasseur de la Corne)
Zarine listens to the group's discovery of the Darkhound and initially challenges Lan's severity. She stays with Perrin in their room, questioning his identity and ta'veren status, before watching him wake from his dream.
Chapter 44 - Hunted
Zarine — aliases: Mandarb
Zarine refuses to swear an oath to go another way, choosing to follow the group. She mounts a bay gelding offered by Lan and rides alongside Perrin. She questions Moiraine about the threat and the power she used, expressing shock that Mat sounded the Horn of Valere.
Chapter 50 - The Hammer
Zarine / Faile — aliases: mistress (maîtresse)
Zarine, qui insiste pour être appelée Faile, interroge le groupe sur leur destination et le danger des Forsaken. Après avoir réaffirmé son engagement envers la chasse malgré sa peur, elle reste avec le groupe.
Chapter 53 - A Flow of the Spirit
Zarine / Faile — aliases: Fai, falcon (faucon)
Zarine walks with Perrin toward the inn and eagerly runs into their private dining room to find Moiraine. She collapses on the floor, trapped by a hedgehog ter’angreal, appearing lifeless with a stopped heartbeat while her consciousness is pulled into the World of Dreams.
Chapter 54 - Into the Stone
Faile
Faile appears in Perrin's dream as a vision chained to a stone block, smiles at him as he frees her, and then fades away as the dream shifts.
Chapter 55 - What Is Written in Prophecy
Faile — aliases: falcon (faucon), falcons
Faile appears in the dream chained to a perch, protected by the falcons. Perrin breaks her chain, and she kneels over him in the waking world, wiping blood from his face and calling him her poor blacksmith. She is physically present in the dining room of the Star inn, unconscious in the dream but awake in reality.
