Chapter 3 - News from the Plain
Lan — aliases: Warder (Gardien), Gaidin (Gaidin)
Lan apparaît depuis la pénombre avec Moiraine, son manteau ondulant dans les ombres, et rejoint le groupe autour du feu avec Uno et Loial. Il confirme la présence des Âmes-perdues, propose de patrouiller autour du camp et avale rapidement trois plats de ragoût avant de se précipiter derrière Moiraine.
Chapter 5 - Nightmares Walking
Lan — aliases: Warder (Gardien)
Lan se réveille entièrement vêtu pour mener la défense, combattant les Trollocs et un Myrddraal, puis il soutient Moiraine et la porte se reposer après qu'elle ait soigné tout le monde.
Chapter 6 - The Hunt Begins
Lan — aliases: Warder (Gardien), Gaidin (Gaidin)
Lan entre dans la cabane pour rapporter que la moitié des membres du camp ont rêvé d'une épée, confirmant ainsi l'emplacement du voyage de Rand. Il est chargé de suivre la trace de Rand et avertit sévèrement Perrin de surveiller son langage.
Chapter 7 - The Way Out of the Mountains

Lan explore le chemin devant lui, laissant des flèches de pierres et des signes gravés pour guider le groupe. Il refuse la suggestion de Moiraine de l'envoyer auprès de Myrelle, chevauche avec un minimum de bruit et arrête de porter sa cape changeante de couleur à l'approche des plaines.
Chapter 8 - Jarra
Lan — aliases: good master (bon maître)
Lan descend de cheval à Jarra et porte les affaires de Moiraine jusqu'à sa chambre. Il avertit Perrin de garder la bouche close et observe le refus de Moiraine de soigner Noam avec une intensité froide et semblable à celle d'un loup, avant de la laisser partir avec Perrin.
Chapter 33 - Within the Weave
Lan — aliases: Master Andra (Maître Andra)
Il explore le chemin et organise les chambres sous le nom d'Andra. Il interroge l'histoire d'Orban, qui prétend avoir combattu les Aiel, d'une voix plate et sceptique, et observe l'auberge avec une méfiance froide.
Chapter 34 - A Different Dance
Lan — aliases: Master Andra (Maître Andra)
Lan questions the innkeeper about the false Dragon rumors and later confronts Perrin in the square, furious that the Aiel was freed, ordering him to retrieve Loial and rush to the stables to find passage to Tear.
Chapter 35 - The Falcon
Lan — aliases: Warder (Gardien)
Lan outpaces Perrin to the stairs, leads the group to the stables, bribes the stableman with gold, pays the captain and sailors for passage, and guides Moiraine below deck.
Chapter 36 - Daughter of the Night
Lan
Lan is seen on deck of the Snow Goose, looking over his horse Mandarb while Zarine sits nearby sharpening her knives.
Chapter 41 - A Hunter’s Oath
Lan — aliases: stone-face, stone-faced Warder
Lan rides ahead of the group onto the Illian docks, examining his sword blade and displaying subtle amusement at the tension between the women, though he remains silent about Zarine's oath.
Chapter 42 - Easing the Badger
Lan
Lan escorts the group through Illian and confronts Moiraine about her intention to leave alone, citing his Warder bond. He is ordered to obey and leave with Perrin, leaving him grim-faced and worried.
Chapter 43 - Shadowbrothers
Lan — aliases: Warder (Gardien), stone-face
Lan deduces the presence of a Darkhound by examining stone footprints in the street and prepares to leave immediately to find Moiraine, ordering the group to sleep while providing only grim, incomplete answers to their inquiries.
Chapter 44 - Hunted
Lan — aliases: Gaidin (Gaidin), Warder (Gardien)
Lan finishes saddling the horses while Nieda holds a lantern, and he tells Zarine to hold the horses while he prepares to fight. He rides up to Zarine to instruct her to hold the mounts, noting her knives will be useless against the Darkhounds. Perrin questions why the Darkhounds were not sent by Sammael, and Lan agrees with Loial that the Ogier's suggestion to wait on the mound is a good one.
Chapter 50 - The Hammer

Lan guide le groupe vers la ville et choisit leur auberge, bien qu'il garde son manteau changeant de couleur rangé. Il insiste pour accompagner Moiraine dans la Pierre de Tear afin de combattre Be'lal, révélant qu'il a repéré des Aiel cachés sur les toits de la ville.
Chapter 53 - A Flow of the Spirit

Lan accompanies Moiraine to the inn, follows her orders to bring the innkeeper Jurah Haret for questioning, and returns to his room before vanishing down the stairs in his color-changing cloak.
