Ba'alzamon apparaît dans le rêve de Perrin, debout au-dessus d'un champ de miroirs, vêtu de noir avec une dentelle argentée. Il exécute un serviteur des Ténèbres qui a permis à Mat Cauthon de s'échapper de Tar Valon en le transformant en brume, et affronte Lanfear au sujet de sa loyauté envers le Ténébreux.

Ba'alzamon descends from the shadows to attack Rand, claiming his soul and twisting reality against him. He flees after Rand touches Callandor, using the Stone's power to create deadly traps in the halls. Rand pursues him through shifting environments, eventually plunging Callandor into his chest, causing Ba'alzamon's shadow to vanish and his physical body to fall lifeless.
