Chapter 25 - Cairhien

Thom / Thom Merrilin — aliases: gleeman (ménestrel)

Thom apparaît sur scène dans une salle de Foregate, racontant une histoire sur Rogosh Eagle-eye. Il reconnaît Rand, lui fait signe de le retrouver en privé, et confirme qu'il a survécu à la Dégradation tout en demandant à Rand d'apporter sa harpe et sa flûte au Bunch of Grapes.

Chapter 26 - Discord

Thom / Thom Merrilin — aliases: gleeman (ménestrel), old fool (vieux fou), uncle (oncle)

Thom retourne dans sa chambre avec Dena et se voit apporter les instruments de Rand. Il rit en apprenant la nouvelle de la Corne mais refuse finalement l'offre de Rand de rejoindre la quête, invoquant son affection pour Dena et sa peur du Grand Jeu. Il partage des prophéties avec Rand, révèle que son neveu Owyn a été adouci par l'Ajah Rouge, et est plus tard réprimandé par Zera pour qu'il épouse Dena.

Chapter 32 - Dangerous Words

Thom Merrilin appears on stage, seemingly ignoring Rand initially. He later speaks privately with Rand in a crowded room, drinking wine and warning Rand about the dangers of Cairhien politics and the White Tower's involvement. He advises Rand to watch himself and then returns to his performance.

Chapter 34 - The Wheel Weaves

Thom / Merrilin — aliases: gleeman (ménestrel)

Thom returns to his inn room to find Dena dead and kills two assassins hiding in the wardrobes. After Zera reveals Barthanes is dead and the killers served Galldrian, Thom prepares to leave Cairhien, acknowledging the danger he faces.
