Chapter 12 - The Amyrlin Seat

Siuan paces her study, anxious over Verin's delayed arrival, before receiving her to hear reports on the Dragon Reborn and the Horn of Valere. She reacts with relief to news of Rand al'Thor and the death of false Dragons, hides the Horn from others, and sternly interrogates Verin about the actions of the runaway sisters.

Chapter 13 - Punishments

Siuan sits behind her table, interrogating the three women about their actions and Liandrin’s treason. She announces their punishment of public scrubbing and promotion to Accepted, reveals Queen Morgase’s desire to recall Elayne, and privately indicates that Nynaeve and Egwene face further unpleasantness.

Chapter 14 - The Bite of the Thorns

Siuan walks to the windows while pondering the leak of information regarding the stolen ter’angreal, then reveals her suspicion that Black Ajah agents remain in the Tower and tasks Egwene and Nynaeve with hunting them. She provides the two women with sealed letters of authority for emergencies and dismisses them after confirming their temper control.

Chapter 20 - Visitations

Siuan enters Mat's room with Leane to inspect his recovery and interrogate him about the Horn of Valere. She reveals that Mat is uniquely linked to the Horn, which will only function for him, and insists he remain in Tar Valon to protect him from Darkfriends who seek the artifact.

Chapter 23 - Sealed

Siuan completes the ritual of raising Egwene to Accepted and questions the magical failure during the trial. She angrily denies Alanna’s request to share Egwene’s kitchen punishment, allowing only a visit to Sheriam, and dismisses Egwene with severe instructions to investigate the incident the next day.

Chapter 29 - A Trap to Spring

The Amyrlin conducts a terrifying inspection of the kitchen, intimidating the staff into faster work. She privately informs Nynaeve that the Black Ajah set a trap using Else Grinwell, explains the danger of Callandor, and authorizes Nynaeve, Egwene, and Elayne to leave for Tear under the pretext of farming.
