Chapter 36 - Daughter of the Night

Summary

Perrin Aybara sleeps on the Snow Goose and enters a dream where Hopper leads him to witness Ba'alzamon and Lanfear tormenting dreamers in a hall of mirrors, after which he sees Rand being hunted and is burned by a flash of light upon waking. Finding a physical burn on his chest, Perrin reveals his vision of the Forsaken to Moiraine Sedai, who warns him of the dangers of gentling and notes the implication of Zarine's name before he departs. On deck, Zarine Bashere watches Perrin while Lan maintains their horses. Meanwhile, Rand al'Thor wakes in the Murandian hills, accidentally kills a merchant and her guards in a trance-like state, and channels to make their corpses kneel in submission before riding off toward Tear, driven by the pull of Callandor.
