Chapter 9 - Wolf Dreams
Summary
In Jarra, Perrin consults Moiraine regarding his terrifying visions and the loss of humanity to the wolf persona; she reveals that dreamers in the Age of Legends encountered wolves in a separate world of dreams and warns him to be cautious of his sleep, though she refuses to shield him, stating the danger lies within himself. That night, Perrin enters a dream where he navigates shifting, shadow-filled hallways, encounters a strange man who is killed by a shadow, and is urged to flee by the wolf Hopper, who has died in reality. Waking with blood on his face, he resolves to master his dreams. Meanwhile, Rand al’Thor, hiding in the wilderness while his wound festers, confronts a hellhound sent by his pursuers and successfully destroys it with a blast of the One Power, severing his connection to the Source to remain undetected as he continues his journey eastward.
