Chapter 17 - The Red Sister

Elaida confronts the three women, physically intimidating Elayne into obedience and interrogating them about their travels and the Black Ajah. Elayne apologizes to Elaida Sedai, claiming she forgot herself. Elaida questions them about Rand al’Thor, a youth from their village, before being interrupted by Sheriam.

Chapter 22 - The Price of the Ring

Elaida assists in Egwene's trials, coldly washing her with water and expressing disdain for her. In a vision, she appears as the Amyrlin Seat in the Hall of the Tower, demanding Egwene sentence Rand to gentling, and later, in the Traitor's Court, she stands before Rand preparing to perform the gentling.

Chapter 23 - Sealed

Elaida — aliases: Aes Sedai

Elaida retrieves Egwene’s novice items and papers, delivering a harsh monologue about Egwene’s status as a wilder and expressing doubt that she will ever truly belong in the White Tower. She leaves the chamber without waiting for a response.
