Perrin listens to Thom Merrilin and confirms his travels to the Mire and Mountains of Mist. He agrees to join the watch patrols if Master Luhhan permits, and helps Rand plan to find more witnesses to the black rider.
Chapter 10 - Leavetaking
Perrin — aliases: blacksmith (鍛冶師)
Perrin hides his axe under his cloak until Rand questions him, then explains Master Luhhan gave it to him. He argues with Egwene about the reality of the Trollocs and follows Lan out of the village.
Chapter 12 - Across the Taren

Chapter 30 - Children of Shadow

Perrin stands by the pool with Elyas, struggling with his hate for his axe and his connection to the wolves, before Elyas leads the group to hide in the stedding with Egwene and Bela. He hides under Artur Hawkwing's statue with Egwene, sensing the approaching Children of the Light. When Hopper attacks to save him, Perrin screams and attacks the riders with his axe, then wakes up bound in Bornhald's tent, listening to Bornhald's interrogation and Byar's threats, where Bornhald declares that a gibbet waits for Perrin in Amador.
Chapter 38 - Rescue

Perrin accompanies the group, noting the silence of the refugee-filled streets of Fal Dara. He rides through the town and sits in Lord Agelmar's study, listening to the grim report on the Trolloc wars and the arrival of Fain.
Chapter 47 - More Tales of the Wheel

Perrin stares unblinkingly at crumbs on the table, his yellow eyes distant. He recalls Fain's strange lingering in the Two Rivers and listens to the confirmation that Fain was compelled to hunt them for years.
Chapter 48 - The Blight
Perrin
Perrin rides with the group, remaining comfortable in his coat while others struggle with the oppressive heat and dampness, and showing signs of a new, fierce demeanor with glowing yellow eyes. He helps set up the camp and stands with Rand and Mat, shocked by the sight of the creature in the lake.
Chapter 49 - The Dark One Stirs
Perrin — aliases: Wolfbrother (狼の兄弟)
Perrin rides with the group, his golden eyes glowing fiercely. He takes the lead on horseback, using his axe to hew a path through the attacking forest and creatures. He avoids the Green Man's gaze initially, turning his horse away, before the Green Man acknowledges him as a Wolfbrother.
Chapter 50 - Meetings at the Eye

Perrin enters the sanctuary feeling the Green Man's peace but remains wary of the Dark One's influence. He draws his axe in defense of Nynaeve against the Forsaken but is thrown back by Aginor's power. He manages to stand and runs with the group as they flee the cavern.
Chapter 52 - There Is Neither Beginning Nor End

Perrin brings a large bundle of white cloth containing the Dragon banner. He expresses a strong desire to return home and questions the destination of Illian, displaying his yellow eyes and a stoic demeanor.
Chapter 53 - The Wheel Turns
Perrin
Perrin brings up the rear with his axe across the pommel of his saddle. Later, Mat asks Moiraine how they struck a blow to the Shadow, and she replies that they must sleep. Moiraine then shows the Horn of Valere to Lord Agelmar in his study, stating that it must be carried to Illian, leaving the Lord looking disappointed that the Horn's place is not in the Borderlands.
