Chapter 13 - Choices

Mandarb

Mandarb is Lan's black stallion. Lan rides him to scout the path ahead and back, covering twice the distance of the others. He arrives in Baerlon with Lan at the front of the group.

Chapter 18 - The Caemlyn Road

Lan's black stallion participates in the charge against the Trollocs and is later led by the reins while the group hides in the ruins.

Chapter 21 - Listen to the Wind

Mandarb

Lan's black stallion is present at the campsite. Lan mounts Mandarb after saddling it and leads the group south, followed by Nynaeve.

Chapter 44 - The Dark Along the Ways

Mandarb

Mandarb stands arrogantly in the stable before being led through the hidden passage and the Waygate, his shadowy reflection vanishing into the shimmer.

Chapter 45 - What Follows in Shadow

Mandarb

Mandarb is Lan's warhorse. He leaps toward the gates and catches the stone wedge with his shoulder, toppling it and carrying Lan through the Waygate.

Chapter 46 - Fal Dara

Mandarb

Mandarb, Lan’s warhorse, is ridden by Lan into Fal Dara. The armored horse is led into the keep and eventually untied by grooms.

Chapter 48 - The Blight

Mandarb

Mandarb is Lan's stallion, ridden by Lan as he leads the group. Lan vanishes to set the camp's concealment.

Chapter 49 - The Dark One Stirs

Mandarb — aliases: warhorse

Mandarb is Lan's black stallion, ridden by Lan as he charges into the trees to fight the Blight's creatures. The warhorse rears to strike and stumbles and bleeds during the attack, but is later led away by Lan as the group escapes.
