Chapter 3 - The Peddler
Egwene — aliases: Egwene al'Vere (Egwene al'Vere)
Egwene se encuentra detrás de Nynaeve, observando a los jóvenes con desaprobación y una sonrisa secreta. Se enfrenta a Rand sobre sus sentimientos y su futuro como Sabia, revelando su deseo de abandonar los Dos Ríos y su miedo a perder su conexión con él si lo hace.
Chapter 7 - Out of the Woods

Chapter 14 - The Stag and Lion

Egwene hides her unbraided hair under her cloak hood during the meeting, defends her decision to leave with Moiraine by mentioning she left a note, and is dismissed from the room to allow the women to speak privately.
Chapter 17 - Watchers and Hunters
Egwene
Egwene dances with Rand and others, then follows Moiraine in fleeing. She witnesses Moiraine's giant form at the gate and expresses fear.
Chapter 18 - The Caemlyn Road

Egwene monta a Bela y lucha contra los Trollocs con un cuchillo de cinturón. Interroga a Rand y a Mat sobre el grito de guerra que lanzaron, sintiendo que lo comprendió brevemente, y escucha mientras Moiraine explica el linaje del Águila Roja y la Rosa del Sol.
Chapter 19 - Shadow’s Waiting

Egwene rides with Perrin toward the gate and falls into the Arinelle River along with him. After a brief moment in the water, she is separated from Perrin, and her fate after that remains unknown as the Trollocs pursue them.
Chapter 22 - A Path Chosen
Egwene
Egwene waits by a fire with Bela, having successfully crossed the river, and reunites with Perrin. She provides him with dry bread and cheese, listens to his strategic proposal to head to Caemlyn, and agrees to follow his lead while expressing confidence that Moiraine will find them.
Chapter 23 - Wolfbrother
Egwene
Egwene insists on riding Bela and attempts to channel the One Power to make a fire, failing but refusing to stop trying. She accompanies Perrin to Elyas's camp, offers a detailed fabricated story from Saldaea which the wolves instantly detect as lies, and firmly asserts her determination to go to Caemlyn and Tar Valon.
Chapter 25 - The Traveling People

Egwene rides the mare Bela alongside the wolves. She dances with Aram at the Tinker camp, finding joy in the moment, but later breaks down in tears before Perrin, asking if her friends are safe, relieved to hear they are alive.
Chapter 27 - Shelter From the Storm

Egwene abraza las festividades de los Tinkers, aprende bailes y recibe regalos de Aram, mientras aconseja a Perrin que disfrute. Se reúne con Ila y se niega terca a la tentativa de Aram de persuadirla para que se quede con los Tuatha'an, preparándose finalmente para partir con el grupo.
Chapter 29 - Eyes Without Pity

Egwene cabalga a Bela durante el vuelo de las cuervas, usando su honda para salvar a Perrin. Entra en el stedding, notando la extraña paz y el monumento del Ojo de Artur Hawkwing, y cuestiona a Elyas sobre la historia de la talla en piedra.
Chapter 30 - Children of Shadow

Egwene waits by the fire and hides under the statue with Perrin and Bela, growing anxious as the Children of the Light search the area. She comforts Perrin and promises to dance with him at Sunday if they return home. After being captured, she is bound in Bornhald's tent and answers Bornhald's questions, clarifying details about their meeting with a Warder to support Perrin's fabricated story, while reacting with fear to Byar's aggression.
Chapter 33 - The Dark Waits

Egwene appears in Rand's fever dream, mournful and accusing him of leaving them to die.
Chapter 38 - Rescue
Egwene
Inmovilizada y marchando junto a Perrin, Egwene es despertada por Byar y ayudada en la huida por Lan. Se reúne con Nynaeve y su caballo Bela, y más tarde recibe curación para sus muñecas mientras pregunta ansiosa por el paradero de Rand y Mat.
Chapter 41 - Old Friends and New Threats

Egwene se reúne con Rand y le pregunta sobre los vendajes rojos en su espada. Está presente en la habitación de Mat cuando Moiraine identifica la maldad del puñal y pregunta si la condición es contagiosa.
Chapter 42 - Remembrance of Dreams

Chapter 44 - The Dark Along the Ways

Egwene goes to her horse Bela, follows the group into the cellar, and passes through the Waygate in shocked silence. She presses close to Rand in the darkness and looks as if she wishes she could rethink her decision to accompany the group into the Ways.
Chapter 45 - What Follows in Shadow

Egwene engages Agelmar in conversation about Lan's title, giggling at his stories before the mood shifts. She comforts Nynaeve and quotes a proverb about finding the Light in the Shadow, expressing hope for Fain's redemption before learning of his crimes.
Chapter 48 - The Blight

Egwene travels with the group, fanning herself in the heat. She expresses interest in learning illusion magic from Moiraine and enthusiastically tells the group they will all go to Tar Valon together, specifically asking Rand to be her Warder.
Chapter 49 - The Dark One Stirs

Egwene stays with Nynaeve in the morning, then mounts her horse Bela. She rides with the group through the Blight, looking at the ruined towers and lakes. She expresses concern about reaching the Eye and asks if the Worms will follow them into the mountains, eventually staring in astonishment at the Green Man.
Chapter 50 - Meetings at the Eye

Egwene wears a garland of flowers and feels the soothing peace of the sanctuary. Upon seeing Nynaeve attacked, she attempts to channel her untrained power to help, but Rand physically pulls her away from the confrontation, and she is forced to flee with the group.
Chapter 51 - Against the Shadow
Egwene
An illusion of Egwene appears in Ba'alzamon's chamber, standing pale and frightened to torment Rand, but she blurs and dissipates when Rand denies the vision.
Chapter 52 - There Is Neither Beginning Nor End
Egwene
Egwene waits beneath the oak tree with Moiraine and Nynaeve, initially drawing back from Rand's touch out of fear before embracing him. She expresses her sorrow and loyalty to him, then helps Moiraine and listens as the treasures are revealed, remaining silent about her own feelings regarding his channeling.
Chapter 53 - The Wheel Turns

Egwene mounts her horse Bela and helps carry the weakened Moiraine on a litter. She rides through the Blight as it recedes, later finding Rand on the balcony in Fal Dara, where she pleads with him to stay with the group and come to Tar Valon, though he refuses.
