Chapter 12 - Across the Taren

Lan leads the group off their horses and guides them through the fog to the ferry landing, where he ensures the party displays their weapons to Master Hightower. He negotiates the crossing, pays the ferryman and his helpers, and watches as the ferry is destroyed before leading the group to their resting place in the woods.
Chapter 13 - Choices
Lan / Andra — aliases: Warder (守卫), Master Andra
Lan scours the path ahead, teaches the boys sword and axe fighting, and insists on secrecy and slow travel. He exchanges aliases with Moiraine, enters Baerlon disguised in ordinary clothes, and is greeted by the innkeeper Fitch as Master Andra.
Chapter 14 - The Stag and Lion

He interrogates a militiaman in the inn with a stern glare, forcing the man to withdraw, and informs Nynaeve and Moiraine about the recent Myrddraal visit and the necessity of their caution.
Chapter 33 - The Dark Waits

Lan appears in Rand's fever dream with a blood-covered face, questioning Rand's worthiness of his sword.
Chapter 38 - Rescue

Lan stands behind Moiraine and Mat upon their arrival, watching the group silently. After Moiraine assigns the task of finding the Waygate to Loial, Lan vanishes from the room to ensure they are not taken unaware.

Lan stands silently at Moiraine's heels as she returns from the cells. He is the subject of Lord Agelmar's story regarding the fall of Malkier and his own destiny as the Uncrowned King, though he denies his titles.
Chapter 48 - The Blight

Chapter 53 - The Wheel Turns
Lan — aliases: the Warder (守卫)
A litter fashioned by Lan is slung between horses to carry Moiraine. Lan watches Rand train with the sword and delivers a flat, cryptic farewell to the boy before leaving him alone on the balcony.
