Ba’alzamon appears to Rand in his fever dream within the empty inn, revealing himself as the entity who manipulated Gode to find them. He claims Rand as his own and threatens him with the 'Eye of the World' before the dream ends.

Chapter 51 - Against the Shadow

Ba'alzamon appears in a dream-chamber, taunting Rand with visions of his family and friends to break his will. He offers Rand servitude in exchange for power, but Rand rejects him and uses a blade of light to sever his cord of power and destroy his physical form in the dream.
