Chapter 19 - Beneath the Dagger

Hurin enters the manor pretending to be Ingtar’s bodyservant to sniff out Darkfriends. He later appears in the room where Thom is playing, acting as the messenger who informs Rand that Mat has twisted his knee, providing the excuse Rand needs to leave the nobles.

Hurin guides Rand to the walled garden by scent and follows them inside. He remains fearful of the Black Wind and questions how they can follow Fain now that the trail is lost in the Ways, eventually urging the group to leave the immediate area.

Hurin observes the Elders and the Mad Ogier with awe. He is sent by Ingtar to fetch Uno and the soldiers. He suggests using a Portal Stone to reach the Aryth Ocean quickly, noting its speed compared to riding. He stands by as Verin addresses his suggestion.

Hurin tracks the scent of Padan Fain in a deserted village and later confirms the trail leads to Falme. He is selected by Ingtar to lead the infiltration party into the city.
Chapter 47 - The Grave Is No Bar to My Call
Hurin
Hurin refuses to stay behind, follows the Heroes into battle with his short sword and sword-breaker, and receives a commendation from Artur Hawkwing for his courage.
