Chapter 29 - Seanchan

Summary

In Almoth Plain, Geofram Bornhald discovers a village where thirty bodies, including children, hang from a gibbet; he interrogates a prisoner who describes attackers resembling Children of the Light, leading Bornhald to suspect the Questioners are framing the Darkfriends while the true enemy, the Seanchan, lurks nearby. Simultaneously, Bayle Domon’s ship Spray is intercepted by a Seanchan vessel led by Captain Egeanin, who captures Domon and his crew after a damane demonstrates terrifying power. Egeanin brings Domon to High Lord Turak in Falme, who reveals a collection of cuendillar artifacts, including an Aes Sedai seal, and detains Domon under the pretense of conversation rather than allowing him to leave.

• Egeanin (Captain) — Captain Egeanin leads a Seanchan boarding party that captures Domon's crew with the help of a damane, and brings Domon to High Lord Turak to deliver a cuendillar artifact.
• damane (damane, Leashed One) — A damane is brought aboard Spray by Egeanin, used to erupt the sea around the ship with fire and water, and later searches Domon's vessel while wearing a collar and leash.
• Turak (High Lord) — High Lord Turak receives Egeanin and Domon, displays a collection of cuendillar including an Aes Sedai seal, and detains Domon in Falme, dismissing him from leaving but inviting him to converse.
• first_watcher (First Watcher) — The First Watcher sits in a cage hanging from the Watchers Over the Waves tower in Falme, having been placed there as punishment for watching for the wrong thing.
