Loial is seen helping the Shienarans rebuild a collapsed hut, using his strength to lift logs. He later joins the group at the fire, commenting on the Wheel weaving a way for Rand to move.
Chapter 6 - The Hunt Begins

Loial listens to the discussion about the Prophecies and Callandor, confirming his knowledge of the Stone of Tear. He eagerly agrees to accompany Moiraine on the journey to find his friend Rand, citing his desire to write a book about the events.
Chapter 7 - The Way Out of the Mountains

Rides his large horse through the changing terrain, fishing alongside Perrin but also failing to match Moiraine's catch. He accepts Moiraine's dominance as inevitable and joins Perrin in cleaning the fish and performing other duties.
Chapter 8 - Jarra

Loial arrives in Jarra, draws the attention of the villagers with his size, and is shown to his room. He engages Simion in conversation about Ogier stedding, distracting the inn employee while Perrin speaks with Moiraine.
Chapter 34 - A Different Dance

Loial excitedly tells Perrin that his bed is made of sung wood. He later informs Perrin that supper is ready and waits for him to join them.

Loial packs his belongings in the Ogier bed, joking about the adventure to set the mood for his book. He boards the boat yawning and follows Lan below deck.

Loial joins the search for the Darkhound and reacts with distress to the presence of the creature. He later comments on Lan's attire and prepares to sleep, finding comfort in the prospect of dreams over the tension of the night.

Loial
Loial rushes down the stairs with his belongings and helps Perrin with his cloak. At the mound, he identifies the stone carving as resembling an Ogier woman, though he notes it is not from a stedding, and then holds the horses alongside Zarine during the attack.
