Selene is a tall, beautiful woman from Cairhien trapped in the stone world. She saves herself from a grolm, rides with Rand and his companions, and claims she can return to her home if taken to a Portal Stone, though Rand suspects she has hidden depths regarding the One Power.

Chapter 17 - Choices

Selene — aliases: my Lady

Selene rides with the group, claiming knowledge of the Portal Stone but lacking the ability to use it herself. She guides Rand to the Stone, watches him channel the group home, and expresses confidence in his destiny. After Rand decides to camp away from the Stone to avoid its influence, Selene suggests they wait near the trailhead to see if the Darkfriends arrive.

Chapter 19 - Beneath the Dagger

Selene stays with the group, changing into Rand’s shirt and persuading him to seize the Horn rather than wait for Ingtar. She retrieves the chest from Loial’s saddle, identifies the inscription on the Horn, and argues that they must flee south to Cairhien to escape Fain’s wrath, remaining wary of Rand’s resolve to go to Shienar instead.

Chapter 20 - Saidin

Selene demands to see the Horn of Valere and urges Rand to flee with her. She expresses terror when Rand nearly channels at the crystal sphere, and later presses him for a chance at greatness with the Horn, only to be rebuffed at the inn.

Chapter 21 - The Nine Rings

Selene — aliases: my Lady, the Lady

Selene accompanies Rand into the inn, displaying a chilling demeanor that silences the room. She declines to play music and later excuses herself, claiming illness, before leaving secretly during the night to await Rand in Cairhien, leaving behind a note with a crescent moon seal.

Chapter 27 - The Shadow in the Night

Selene

Selene finds Rand and Loial being hunted by Trollocs and accompanies them to the Illuminators' courtyard. She criticizes Rand's lack of calmness and guides them through the obstacle course of fireworks before disappearing into the chaos created by the explosion.
