Verin rides rapidly to catch up with the party, initially feigning absent-mindedness before sharply questioning Ingtar about Rand’s disappearance. She deduces the strangeness of the situation and insists on riding with them to learn everything about the young man, dismissing concerns about the Horn.

Verin heals Hurin and guides the group to The Great Tree inn. She reveals the catastrophic potential of a pair of sa'angreal linked to the War of the Powers and explains that King Galldrian would seize the Horn of Valere. She crumples the King's invitation but accepts Barthanes's invitation for Rand to attend the manor.

Verin enters the manor as Aes Sedai of the Brown Ajah, drawing significant attention and murmurs from the nobles. She insists on splitting the group to avoid suspicion and watches as Rand navigates the social dangers of the party.
Chapter 33 - A Message from the Dark

Verin questions Rand and the others about their findings, rejects the idea that Machin Shin could be controlled by Darkfriends, and reveals that Mat is deteriorating from the dagger's taint. She decides they must go to Toman Head, directing the group to prepare for departure at first light via Stedding Tsofu.

Verin travels with the group and manages the entry into the stedding, instructing Ingtar to leave armed men outside. She attempts to stop the Aiel confrontation with frustrated commands and is eventually led away by Juni to speak with the Elders.

ヴェリンは焚き火のそばで体を温め、インガターと議論を交わし、ファルメへの道を示す予言に従うよう主張する。彼女はファルメにいるシャナンの未知の危険についてランドに警告するが、最終的に彼が自身の選択を下す必要があると告げ、ドラゴンとしての彼のアイデンティティとの葛藤を観察する。

ヴェリンは焚き火の傍らで泥に記号を描き、パターンの導きで彼らがファルメに辿り着いたと主張する。そして、ダマーネの脅威を理由に同行を拒否し、インタール、マット、ペリン、ランド、ロイアルの5人をファルメへの遠征隊に選んだ。
