Leya rides a piebald horse through the dangerous mountains, guided by an intuition she cannot explain. She is not alarmed by the armed men, but she challenges Perrin’s belief in violence, arguing that fleeing evil is the only way to avoid becoming like it.

Leya arrives at the camp and dismissively ignores the Dragon banner to demand to see Moiraine immediately. She hands her reins to Perrin, asking him to ensure her horse is fed, and hurries up the slope to Moiraine’s hut, where she is presumed to be meeting with Moiraine and Lan.

Leya witnesses the attack on the camp with horror and attempts to embrace a Myrddraal to distract it, but is killed instantly by its blade while Perrin struggles with the beast.
