Chapter 7 - Blood Calls Blood

Perrin visits Mat in the infirmary and is stopped by Leane, who examines his eyes and notes their unusual golden color. He later confronts Rand about their separation, expressing his confusion and hurt before leaving. Lan then dresses Rand in formal attire and instructs him on protocol for the audience with the Amyrlin Seat.

Chapter 11 - Glimmers of the Pattern

Perrin observes the banner and listens to Rand's confession, advising him to run and bury the banner, then departs to return to camp with a sense of foreboding.

Chapter 14 - Wolfbrother

Perrin connects mentally with the wolf pack, receiving their fury at Trollocs and Fain’s scent, then reports the tracking data to Ingtar. He conceals his true abilities by adopting the guise of a new sniffer, enduring Mat’s skepticism while forcing himself to suppress the wolves' desire to kill the Darkfriends.

Chapter 28 - A New Thread in the Pattern

Perrin shares the wolves' reports of the Shadowkiller with Ingtar and struggles to suppress the wolves' thoughts in his mind. He observes the Aiel Urien closely, gripping his axe when the Aiel becomes tense, and notes the symbol Urien draws on the ground.

Chapter 30 - Daes Dae’mar

Perrin follows Mat to the scene of the fire, his eyes shining yellow as he looks around the crowd.

Chapter 31 - On the Scent

Perrin explains how Verin gained access to the guardhouse and helps Rand up. He plays stones with Ingtar at the inn, observing the group's changing dynamics and Rand's growing demeanor, while harboring his own secret thoughts about being the Shadowkiller.

Chapter 33 - A Message from the Dark

Perrin

Perrin is present in the inn's dining room, reading and observing the group's despair. He agrees to join the pursuit of Fain to Toman Head, joking that he must come to keep Mat out of trouble.

Chapter 35 - Stedding Tsofu

Perrin

Perrin rides into the stedding and asks Loial questions about the stedding before half-drawing his axe during the Aiel confrontation and lowering it. He later speculates that the Aiel are searching for Rand and listens to Rand's musings on marriage customs.

Chapter 37 - What Might Be

Perrin

Perrin stands with his fingers dug into his face to remove what he has seen, dropping his hands after the surge to ask where they are. He confirms with Rand that they are in Toman Head and notes that they have few choices in their lives regardless of what they do.

Chapter 41 - Disagreements

Perrin wonders why Fain would bring the Horn to the coast and later agrees with Mat that Hurin's tracking is the priority, stating he will go wherever Rand goes but acknowledging the necessity of finding Fain via scent.

Chapter 44 - Five Will Ride Forth

Perrin wears borrowed, ill-fitting clothes and observes villagers avoiding strangers before spotting the Children of the Light; he contacts wolves to scout the town, confirming the Whitecloaks are surrounding the village, and reports this to his companions.
