Chapter 24 - New Friends and Old Enemies

Elayne

A novice with reddish-gold hair, Elayne is assigned to guide Egwene. She discusses the rules of the Tower, her background as Daughter-Heir of Andor, and her ability to channel. She introduces Egwene to Min, Galad, and her brother Gawyn, and is later scolded by Elaida for speaking out of turn.

Chapter 38 - Practice

Elayne enters the room bringing news of King Galldrian’s death and Logain’s distress. She joins the channeling practice, reveals her own fears of the Aes Sedai training, and firmly insists on accompanying the group to Toman Head.

Chapter 39 - Flight from the White Tower

Elayne disguises herself in a blue dress, rides her bay mare, and intervenes when Liandrin confronts the group. She explains that they overheard Liandrin's conversation, travels through the Waygate, and later teases Egwene about her romantic feelings for Rand.

Chapter 40 - Damane

Elayne escapes the Seanchan soldiers by hiding behind a tree until Nynaeve finds her. She expresses guilt over her cowardice but agrees to Nynaeve's plan to ride to Falme, mounting behind Nynaeve on a mare to pursue the Seanchan column.

Chapter 42 - Falme

Elayne accompanies Nynaeve through the crowded streets of Falme, wearing a sheepskin coat and hiding stolen apples in her pockets. She expresses contempt for the Falmen's submission to the Seanchan and defends her thievery as necessary for their survival, later agreeing to Nynaeve's watch post while worrying about their dwindling resources.

Chapter 43 - A Plan

Elayne escapes the Seanchan ambush and joins Nynaeve and Min, expressing her wish for armed assistance to rescue Egwene. She travels with them to the inn and helps Nynaeve persuade Domon, standing by while the captain shares his grim experiences with the collars.
