Chapter 3 - Friends and Enemies

Egwene finds Rand hiding, scolds him for his stubbornness, and leads him to the dungeon to visit Fain, where she proposes hiding him in the women's apartments to avoid the Amyrlin, arguing that it is the one place no man would enter without a woman's invitation and no one would think to look.
Chapter 6 - Dark Prophecy

Egwene is found lying unconscious in the dungeon floor next to Mat, having been struck on the head. She is taken to her room by litters bearers under Moiraine's orders, with Moiraine stating she will wake in the morning.
Chapter 8 - The Dragon Reborn

Egwene packs her dresses and prepares to leave for Tar Valon. She meets Rand in the women's apartments for a final goodbye, where he warns her not to join the Red Ajah and declares his separation from the Aes Sedai. Nisura notes that the previous man who tried to enter had been seeking his betrothed and knew better than to wear a sword, and reminds Egwene to hide her tears.
Chapter 12 - Woven in the Pattern

Egwene rides with the Aes Sedai procession out of Fal Dara, receives a controlled channeling lesson from Verin that goes awry for Nynaeve, and later arrives at Medo. Distressed by dreams of danger to Rand, she seeks out Anaiya to report her fears, which Anaiya interprets as a potential gift of Dreaming.
Chapter 18 - To the White Tower

Egwene rides the River Queen to Tar Valon, undergoing a rigorous channeling lesson from the Amyrlin Seat that leaves her exhausted but successful in controlling the One Power. Upon arriving in the city, she is initially overlooked by the Aes Sedai delegation but is eventually met by Sheriam, whom she promises to endure the difficult novice training.
Chapter 24 - New Friends and Old Enemies
Egwene — aliases: novice
Egwene is assigned to a novice room and meets Elayne, where she demonstrates her ability to channel by forming a ball of light. She learns about the Tower's strict rules and the scarcity of Aes Sedai, meets Min and the brothers Galad and Gawyn, and is sharply rebuked by Elaida for speaking without permission before rushing to her duties.
Chapter 38 - Practice
Egwene
Egwene practices channeling secretly in her novice room with Nynaeve, Elayne, and Min, juggling balls of light and confronting her fears of the Power and her secret longing for Rand. She is shocked when Liandrin Sedai arrives and recruits her and Nynaeve for a secret mission to Toman Head. After Liandrin leaves, Elayne and Min independently declare their intent to join the mission, and Egwene internally resolves to help Rand however she can.
Chapter 39 - Flight from the White Tower
Egwene
Egwene travels disguised with her companions, feeling the weight of their mission and the contrast between her current fine dress and her novice habits. She leads her horse Bela into the Waygate first, enduring the disorienting passage through the darkness of the Ways and later riding through the labyrinth with growing anxiety about the Black Wind and her feelings for Rand.
Chapter 40 - Damane

Egwene is collared by Renna and subjected to unseen blows when she defies her orders, enduring pain to save Min from execution before agreeing to serve Suroth.
Chapter 42 - Falme
Egwene / al'Vere — aliases: Tuli
Egwene al'Vere channels a tiny trickle of Power to probe her collar and is visited by Min Farshaw, who offers an escape plan. After Renna discovers the channeling, Egwene is severely punished and forced to accept the name Tuli.
Chapter 46 - To Come Out of the Shadow
Egwene — aliases: Tuli
Egwene is freed from her collar by Nynaeve, attacks and subdues the sul’dam Renna by suffocation and collaring her, and uses the One Power to create explosions to cover the group's escape.
Chapter 48 - First Claiming
Egwene
Egwene enters the room, senses Rand's need, and asks Min if she knows what Rand truly is. After Min's defiant response, Egwene leaves to fetch Nynaeve.
