シウアンは盗まれたテルアンクレアルに関する情報漏洩について思いを巡らせながら窓へと歩き、黒いアジャの残党が塔内に残っていると疑いを示し、エグウェンとニナエブに彼らを追跡するよう命じた。彼女は緊急時に使える封印された権限書を二人に渡した後、二人の感情の制御を確認して彼女たちを退けた。

Siuan completes the ritual of raising Egwene to Accepted and questions the magical failure during the trial. She angrily denies Alanna’s request to share Egwene’s kitchen punishment, allowing only a visit to Sheriam, and dismisses Egwene with severe instructions to investigate the incident the next day.
