Chapter 2 - Strangers
Moiraine — aliases: The Lady Moiraine (La dama Moiraine)
Moiraine arriva a Emond's Field indossando un mantello di velluto blu e preziosi gioielli d'oro, accompagnata dal suo attendente Lan, che brandisce la spada. Interagisce con Rand e Mat nel Green, donando loro monete d'argento e affidando loro delle mansioni, mentre sostiene di essere una studiosa di storia interessata al passato della regione.
Chapter 4 - The Gleeman

Moiraine si unisce alla folla che osserva Thom Merrilin e intrattiene con lui uno scambio cortese ma cauto riguardo alle sue storie. Accoglie il suo inchino con grazia prima di allontanarsi insieme a Lan.

Chapter 10 - Leavetaking

Moiraine interrompe il gruppo per confermare che hanno mantenuto segreto il loro arrivo. Permette a Egwene e Thom di unirsi alla loro compagnia, affermando che fa parte del Pattern, e li conduce fuori dal villaggio verso il guado di Taren.
Chapter 11 - The Road to Taren Ferry
Moiraine — aliases: the Aes Sedai (le Aes Sedai)
Moiraine rimuove magicamente la fatica dai cavalli e in seguito libera una fitta nebbia gelida per nascondere il gruppo dai Draghkar. Cavalca con Lan, spiegando i limiti dell'uccidere la creatura da cavallo.
Chapter 12 - Across the Taren
Moiraine / Moiraine Sedai — aliases: the Aes Sedai (le Aes Sedai)
Moiraine parla brevemente con Lan prima di guidare il gruppo fino al traghetto, dove paga il barcaiolo per il viaggio e aggiunge un marco d'argento per ogni aiutante. Genera magicamente un mulinello per distruggere il traghetto, poi spiega al gruppo il motivo di questa necessità per ingannare i loro inseguitori. In seguito, insegna a Egwene riguardo alla Vera Fonte e guida Egwene attraverso il suo primo contatto con il Potere Uno utilizzando una pietra blu.
Chapter 13 - Choices

Moiraine heals the group’s fatigue and rides at the head of the party with Lan. She silences Rand and Egwene’s argument with a stern warning about the Dark One’s pursuit. Later, she privately teaches Egwene about the One Power and the history of the Breaking before leading the group into Baerlon under the alias Alys, where she is welcomed by the innkeeper Fitch.
Chapter 14 - The Stag and Lion
Moiraine — aliases: Mistress Alys (Signora Alys)
Moiraine guida il gruppo attraverso Baerlon con lo pseudonimo di Mistress Alys, organizza bagni e un pasto privato e propone di fermarsi a Baerlon per due notti. Lan informa il gruppo che Logain ha vinto una battaglia in Ghealdan. In seguito parla brevemente con una ragazza messaggera e risponde alla generale diffidenza di Lan nei confronti dell'albergatore, sostenendo che Master Fitch è degno di fiducia nonostante la necessità di cautela.
Chapter 16 - The Wisdom

Moiraine confronts Nynaeve in the inn room, arguing that the boys are safer with her due to her power to protect them from the Dark One and their minions, and privately questions the Wisdom about whether the boys were born outside the Two Rivers.
Chapter 17 - Watchers and Hunters

Moiraine danza con Rand, poi affronta i Whitecloaks al cancello. Intimidisce Bornhald e il Guardiano ingrandendo la sua figura e piegando una spada, permettendo al gruppo di fuggere mentre esprime rammarico che il Maestro Fitch non abbia preso sul serio i suoi avvertimenti riguardo alla locanda.
Chapter 18 - The Caemlyn Road

Moiraine guida il gruppo, discute la strategia con Lan e utilizza un angreal per evocare un massiccio terremoto e un muro di fuoco per fermare i Trolloci e i Myrddraal che li inseguono. Esaurita, in seguito traccia una falsa scia di odore per la fuga del gruppo e rivela il nome della città in rovina, Shadar Logoth.
Chapter 19 - Shadow’s Waiting
Moiraine — aliases: the Aes Sedai (le Aes Sedai)
Moiraine riposa nella casa sicura, guarisce la sua stanchezza con l'aiuto di Nynaeve e spiega al gruppo la vera natura di Mordeth e Mashadar dopo il ritorno dei ragazzi, quindi dirige l'evacuazione della città mentre una horda di Trollocs viene spinta all'interno.
Chapter 21 - Listen to the Wind

Moiraine si riposa sulla riva di un fiume insieme a Lan, analizzando le tracce lasciate dall'esercito in inseguimento. Rivela a Nynaeve di poter canalizzare descrivendo i suoi sintomi passati e il pericolo corso dalle donne che non riescono a controllare il Potere. Informa Nynaeve che uno dei ragazzi è vivo dall'altra parte del fiume e le ordina di unirsi a loro per dirigersi a sud.
Chapter 28 - Footprints in Air

Moiraine guida con sicurezza in testa, percependo la posizione dei ragazzi attraverso le loro tracce emotive e l'odore del Pattern. Calma gli abitanti in preda al panico a Whitebridge per estrarre informazioni, conferma a Lan che era presente un Myrddraal e spiega il suo piano di rintracciare prima il ragazzo tramite il suo talismano, prima di trovare gli altri, deflettendo la rabbia di Nynaeve con compostezza glaciale.

Moiraine leads the group, losing and then regaining the scent of the boy they seek. She conceals herself in the shadows of the Whitecloak camp and eventually summons a massive lightning storm to distract the guards and scatter the horses, facilitating Nynaeve's escape.

Moiraine attende il ritorno di Nynaeve, conferma che Rand e Mat sono probabilmente a Caemlyn ed esamina gli occhi di Perrin, notando che i suoi iridi in mutazione non sono una malattia ma un cambiamento nel Pattern.
Chapter 41 - Old Friends and New Threats

Moiraine arrives at the inn with the other companions, enters Mat's room, and recoils from the evil of the Shadar Logoth dagger. She isolates herself with Mat to attempt to cure him of the dagger's corrupting influence, warning that the evil spreads like a plague.
Chapter 42 - Remembrance of Dreams

Moiraine appears with the cured Mat and commands the group's attention with her dominant presence. She confirms that Mat still has the dagger but has been cleansed of its immediate taint. She reveals the threat to the Eye of the World and the necessity of reaching it before Trollocs, ordering Loial to guide them through the Ogier Waygate despite his warnings.
Chapter 43 - Decisions and Apparitions

Moiraine ascolta la spiegazione di Loial riguardo alle Vie e rivela l'urgenza di raggiungere l'Occhio del Mondo per fermare il Tenebroso. Costringe il gruppo a scegliere tra affrontare la minaccia o fuggire; quando loro acconsentono, affida a Loial il compito di guidarli. Guarisce la ferita di Rand dopo il suo sogno, avvertendo che il tempo è poco.
Chapter 44 - The Dark Along the Ways

Moiraine guides the group to the Waygate, lights her way with a ball of flame, and opens the ancient lock with her staff. She retrieves the leaf of Avendesora to activate the gate, leads Aldieb through first, and remains last to seal the gate from the other side, preventing pursuit.
Chapter 45 - What Follows in Shadow

Moiraine confirms that Trollocs have discovered the Ways and uses her staff to burn a path through the stone gate key, which is missing. She leads the escape, then watches the Waygate darken, explaining the nature of the corruption and the entity called Machin Shin.

Moiraine leads the group to Fal Dara and meets with Lord Agelmar, confirming the severity of the Trolloc threat. She dismisses Agelmar's offers of military aid, insisting on their journey to the Eye of the World. Chapter 47 - More Tales of the Wheel

Moiraine leads the group past the borderpost into the Blight. Upon reaching the camping hill, she dismounts and weaves an illusion barrier to hide the camp from the Dark One's eyes. She speaks with Egwene about her training and offers to find work for the group in Tar Valon.
Chapter 49 - The Dark One Stirs

Moiraine stands in the hilltop camp, then removes the illusion she wove the previous night. She leads the group north, urging them to stay close as she protects them from the Blight's influence. She hurls fireballs at attacking creatures and heals Lan's wounds, declaring that she is lighting signal fires for the Halfmen as they press on to the high passes.
Chapter 50 - Meetings at the Eye

Moiraine guides the group to the Eye of the World and explains its purpose as pure saidin. She confronts the Forsaken, attempting to trap Aginor in a massive pillar of fire using her power. She screams as Aginor walks through the flames unharmed and heads toward Egwene.
Chapter 52 - There Is Neither Beginning Nor End

Moiraine recovers from her injuries, revealing the nature of the artifacts found in the Eye, including the Horn of Valere and the Dragon banner. She commands Rand to tell his story, refuses his request to teach him, and insists on taking the artifacts to Illian, maintaining authority over the group despite the crisis.
Chapter 53 - The Wheel Turns

Moiraine rests on a litter carried by the horses, setting wards with Nynaeve and Egwene. In Fal Dara, she commands Lord Agelmar to take the Horn of Valere to Illian for rallying forces against the Shadow, ignoring his dismay. She whispers that the Prophecies will be fulfilled and the Dragon is Reborn as the chapter ends.
