Chapter 3 - The Peddler
Egwene — aliases: Egwene al'Vere
Egwene stands behind Nynaeve, watching the youths with disapproval and a secret smile. She confronts Rand about his feelings and her future as a Wisdom, revealing her desire to leave the Two Rivers and her fear of losing her connection to him if she does.
Chapter 7 - Out of the Woods
Egwene / Egwene al'Vere
Egwene, esausta e sporca di fuliggine, incontra Rand e lo conduce dalla Saggia. Abbraccia Rand dopo il rifiuto di Nynaeve, poi viene richiamata da Nynaeve, lasciando Rand solo con le sue paure.
Chapter 10 - Leavetaking

Egwene slips into the stable and confronts Moiraine, refusing to be left behind. She deduces the group's plans by observing their behavior, and Moiraine allows her to join the party, riding Bela.
Chapter 11 - The Road to Taren Ferry
Egwene
Egwene cavalca Bela, inizialmente esausta ma poi esaltata dal volo. Urla a Rand di montare in sella durante l'attacco dei Draghkar e cavalca eccitata attraverso la nebbia.
Chapter 12 - Across the Taren
Egwene
Egwene avanza con sicurezza nella nebbia e reagisce con gioia al trucco del pugnale di Thom. Si siede con Moiraine nella cavità, ascoltando con avidità la lezione sul Potere Uno e toccando con successo la Sorgente attraverso una pietra blu, per sua stessa gioia e per la gelosia silenziosa di Rand.
Chapter 13 - Choices

Chapter 14 - The Stag and Lion

Egwene rimane nelle stanze con Moiraine, si pettina e si scalda le mani al fuoco prima di raggiungere la sala da pranzo privata. Si irrigidisce e gli volta le spalle quando Rand cerca di scusarsi, mantenendo una distanza sdegnosa da lui durante il pasto.
Chapter 16 - The Wisdom

Egwene hides her unbraided hair under her cloak hood during the meeting, defends her decision to leave with Moiraine by mentioning she left a note, and is dismissed from the room to allow the women to speak privately.
Chapter 17 - Watchers and Hunters
Egwene
Egwene dances with Rand and others, then follows Moiraine in fleeing. She witnesses Moiraine's giant form at the gate and expresses fear.
Chapter 18 - The Caemlyn Road
Egwene / Egwene al'Vere
Egwene cavalca Bela e combatte i Trolloci con un coltello da cintura. Interroga Rand e Mat riguardo all'urlo di guerra che hanno lanciato, sentendo di averlo compreso per un breve istante, e ascolta mentre Moiraine spiega la discendenza dell'Aquila Rossa e della Rosa del Sole.
Chapter 19 - Shadow’s Waiting

Egwene aspetta nella casa sicura, si scalda al fuoco e ascolta con evidente paura la terrificante storia del gruppo su Mordeth e l'ombra di Shadar Logoth.
Chapter 20 - Dust on the Wind
Egwene
Egwene cavalca con Perrin verso il cancello e cade insieme a lui nel fiume Arinelle. Dopo un breve momento in acqua, viene separata da Perrin e il suo destino successivo rimane ignoto mentre i Trolloci li inseguono.
Chapter 22 - A Path Chosen
Egwene
Egwene waits by a fire with Bela, having successfully crossed the river, and reunites with Perrin. She provides him with dry bread and cheese, listens to his strategic proposal to head to Caemlyn, and agrees to follow his lead while expressing confidence that Moiraine will find them.
Chapter 23 - Wolfbrother
Egwene
Egwene insiste per cavalcare Bela e tenta di canalizzare il Potere Uno per accendere un fuoco, fallendo ma rifiutandosi di smettere di provare. Accompagna Perrin al campo di Elyas, offre una dettagliata storia inventata proveniente da Saldaea che i lupi rilevano immediatamente come menzogne, e afferma con fermezza la sua determinazione ad andare a Caemlyn e a Tar Valon.
Chapter 25 - The Traveling People

Egwene cavalca la giumenta Bela insieme ai lupi. Balla con Aram nell'accampamento dei Tinker, trovando gioia nel momento, ma in seguito crolla in lacrime davanti a Perrin, chiedendo se i suoi amici siano al sicuro, sollevata nell'udire che sono vivi.
Chapter 27 - Shelter From the Storm
Egwene
Egwene abbraccia le feste dei Tinkers, imparando danze e ricevendo regali da Aram, mentre consiglia a Perrin di godersi la festa. Si consulta con Ila e rifiuta testardamente il tentativo di Aram di convincerla a restare con i Tuatha'an, preparandosi infine a partire con il gruppo.
Chapter 29 - Eyes Without Pity

Egwene cavalca Bela durante la fuga dai corvi, usando la fionda per salvare Perrin. Entra nello stedding, notando la strana pace e il monumento dell'Occhio di Artur Hawkwing, e interroga Elyas sulla storia della scultura in pietra.
Chapter 30 - Children of Shadow

Egwene waits by the fire and hides under the statue with Perrin and Bela, growing anxious as the Children of the Light search the area. She comforts Perrin and promises to dance with him at Sunday if they return home. After being captured, she is bound in Bornhald's tent and answers Bornhald's questions, clarifying details about their meeting with a Warder to support Perrin's fabricated story, while reacting with fear to Byar's aggression.
Chapter 33 - The Dark Waits

Egwene appare nel delirio febbrile di Rand, mesta e accusandolo di averli lasciati morire.
Chapter 38 - Rescue

Pinned and marched alongside Perrin, Egwene is woken by Byar and helped in the escape by Lan. She reunites with Nynaeve and her horse Bela, and later receives healing for her wrists while anxiously inquiring about the whereabouts of Rand and Mat.
Chapter 41 - Old Friends and New Threats

Egwene si riunisce a Rand e chiede delle bende rosse sulla sua spada. È presente nella stanza di Mat quando Moiraine identifica il male del pugnale e chiede se la condizione sia contagiosa.
Chapter 42 - Remembrance of Dreams

Egwene is present in the library, initially gawking at Loial before listening to the discussion. She confirms the Tinkers' account of the Aiel dying and the warning about the Eye of the World. She is seen crying softly at the end of the chapter, comforted by Nynaeve.
Chapter 43 - Decisions and Apparitions
Egwene
Egwene chiede a Loial come siano state create le Vie e rifiuta il suggerimento di Moiraine che lei e Nynaeve dovrebbero restare indietro per sicurezza. Insiste nell'accompagnare gli uomini all'Occhio del Mondo, affermando di non poter restare nascosta mentre loro affrontano il pericolo.
Chapter 44 - The Dark Along the Ways

Egwene goes to her horse Bela, follows the group into the cellar, and passes through the Waygate in shocked silence. She presses close to Rand in the darkness and looks as if she wishes she could rethink her decision to accompany the group into the Ways.
Chapter 45 - What Follows in Shadow

Egwene si aggrappa al braccio di Rand per diversi ponti e in seguito condivide con lui un momento di paura mentre il vento si avvicina. Sente le voci urlanti di Machin Shin e viene terrorizzata dai sussurri dell'entità.
Chapter 46 - Fal Dara

Egwene cavalca Bela, tremando per il freddo e osservando le fattorie abbandonate e le folle silenziose di Fal Dara. Si unisce al gruppo nello studio del Lord Agelmar, dove è presente quando Padan Fain viene condotto in cella e rivela il suo legame con il Dark One.
Chapter 47 - More Tales of the Wheel

Egwene engages Agelmar in conversation about Lan's title, giggling at his stories before the mood shifts. She comforts Nynaeve and quotes a proverb about finding the Light in the Shadow, expressing hope for Fain's redemption before learning of his crimes.
Chapter 48 - The Blight

Egwene viaggia con il gruppo, ventilandosi con il caldo. Esprime interesse nell'apprendere la magia delle illusioni da Moiraine e dice entusiasta al gruppo che tutti andranno insieme a Tar Valon, chiedendo specificamente a Rand di essere il suo Aes Sedai.
Chapter 49 - The Dark One Stirs

Egwene stays with Nynaeve in the morning, then mounts her horse Bela. She rides with the group through the Blight, looking at the ruined towers and lakes. She expresses concern about reaching the Eye and asks if the Worms will follow them into the mountains, eventually staring in astonishment at the Green Man.
Chapter 50 - Meetings at the Eye

Egwene wears a garland of flowers and feels the soothing peace of the sanctuary. Upon seeing Nynaeve attacked, she attempts to channel her untrained power to help, but Rand physically pulls her away from the confrontation, and she is forced to flee with the group.
Chapter 51 - Against the Shadow
Egwene
An illusion of Egwene appears in Ba'alzamon's chamber, standing pale and frightened to torment Rand, but she blurs and dissipates when Rand denies the vision.
Chapter 52 - There Is Neither Beginning Nor End
Egwene
Egwene attende sotto la quercia con Moiraine e Nynaeve, inizialmente ritraendosi dal tocco di Rand per paura prima di abbracciarlo. Esprime il suo dolore e la sua lealtà verso di lui, poi aiuta Moiraine e ascolta mentre i tesori vengono rivelati, restando in silenzio riguardo ai suoi sentimenti sul suo Canale.
Chapter 53 - The Wheel Turns
