Chapter 1 - The Flame of Tar Valon

Rand / Rand al’Thor — aliases: sheepherder (pastor de ovejas)

Rand practica formas de espada con Lan en la cima de una torre, durante las cuales un viento solidificado le inflige verdaderas heridas en el pecho. Se preocupa por su espada con la marca de garceta, su inminente partida y sus sentimientos hacia Egwene, pero se ve alterado por la llegada del séquito de la Silla del Amyrlin y huye de la torre.

Chapter 2 - The Welcome

Rand se apresura a recorrer la fortaleza intentando evitar la llegada de la Amyrlin, solo para encontrar su habitación registrada por los sirvientes que reemplazan su ropa. Evita por poco ser descubierto por Elansu, esconde su vieja capa y flauta de juglar, e intenta colarse hasta su caballo, pero descubre que todas las puertas y cuadras están selladas por orden del Lord Agelmar al darse cuenta de que la Amyrlin viene por él.

Chapter 3 - Friends and Enemies

Rand intenta abandonar la fortaleza pero encuentra todas las puertas cerradas y custodiadas, volviéndose cada vez más paranoico ante la sensación de ser observado por fuerzas invisibles. Se enfrenta a sus amigos Mat, Perrin y Loial, alejándolos con ira para protegerlos del peligro que él percibe. Tras Egwene insiste en que se oculte para evitar a la Silla del Amyrlin, Rand visita la mazmorra, se encuentra con el profético Padan Fain y finalmente acepta disfrazarse como sirviente de Egwene para ocultarse en los aposentos femeninos.

Chapter 6 - Dark Prophecy

Rand wakes from a nightmare, hides in the women's apartments, and rushes to the dungeon upon hearing alarms, where he discovers murdered guards, an escaped Fain, and unconscious friends. He is confronted by Liandrin, saved by Moiraine, and later informed by Lan that he is permitted to leave the keep immediately.

Chapter 7 - Blood Calls Blood

Rand wakes unable to sleep and argues with Perrin about his departure from Fal Dara. He is summoned by the Amyrlin Seat and dressed in formal attire by Lan, who gives him a Manetheren pin to aid his appearance before the Amyrlin.

Chapter 8 - The Dragon Reborn

Rand / Rand al'Thor — aliases: Dragon Reborn (Dragón Renacido), shepherd, Lord Rand (Lord Rand), son of Tam al'Thor, young lion

Rand walks stiffly through the keep and enters the Amyrlin's chambers, where he is formally identified as the Dragon Reborn by Siuan. He struggles with the revelation, invoking the void to maintain his composure, and ultimately agrees to ride with Ingtar to find the Horn of Valere. Later, he confronts the restrictions of the women's apartments, speaks briefly with Egwene about their impending separation, and departs for his journey.

Chapter 9 - Leavetakings

Rand — aliases: my Lord Rand

Rand mounts his stallion Red and joins Ingtar's company, apologizing to Mat and Perrin who ride away without listening. He meets Hurin the sniffer, who confirms the thieves went south, and rides out of Fal Dara with the Gray Owl banner, hoping to avoid his fate.

Chapter 10 - The Hunt Begins

Rand lucha con el agotamiento físico del viaje y la distancia emocional de Mat y Perrin, mientras nota sus ropas suntuosas y la hostilidad de Masema. Chapter 11 - Glimmers of the Pattern

Rand receives the bundle and learns of his role as second-in-command, later discovering the Dragon's banner which he packs into his saddlebags. He confronts Mat and Perrin about channeling, causing them to leave him, then joins Loial and Hurin at camp before lying awake with anxiety.

Chapter 13 - From Stone to Stone

Rand — aliases: Lord Rand (Lord Rand), my Lord (mi Señor), shepherd

Rand wakes to find himself in a strange, pale world with Loial and Hurin. He attempts to channel through the Stone cylinder to return home but fails due to the taint of saidin, suffering a psychic backlash. He accepts the responsibility to lead the group and follows Hurin's scent trail south to find the Darkfriends.

Chapter 15 - Kinslayer

Rand / Rand al'Thor — aliases: Lews Therin (Lews Therin), the Kinslayer (el Asesino de su Familia)

Rand guía a Loial y a Hurin a través del inquietante y desvanecido paisaje, reprimiendo su miedo para mantener la moral del grupo. Durante su guardia, se enfrenta en una confrontación mental e ilusoria con Ba'alzamon, quien lo tenta con poder y les revela su pasado compartido, concluyendo con Rand rechazando la oferta y encontrando una marca de una garza en su palma a pesar de no tener heridas físicas.

Chapter 16 - In the Mirror of Darkness

Rand leads his companions through the strange world, rides up to Hawkwing's spire, and shoots a grolm to save Selene, later refusing her request to take her to a Portal Stone so he can continue hunting the Darkfriends.

Chapter 17 - Choices

Rand / Rand al'Thor — aliases: Lord Rand (Lord Rand), my Lord (mi Señor)

Rand guía a su grupo hacia una posición defensiva y mata a cinco grolm con su arco mientras entra en el vacío. Luego canaliza el Poder Único a través de una Piedra Portal, sufriendo un dolor intenso y una adicción a la luz de saidin, para transportar al grupo de vuelta a su mundo verdadero.

Chapter 19 - Beneath the Dagger

Rand lucha con su atracción hacia Selene y su destino como el Dragón, decidiendo finalmente robar el Cuerno de Valere del campamento de Fain. Se infiltra en el campamento junto con Loial, recupera el Cuerno y el cuchillo de Shadar Logoth, y se defiende de los Trollocs que lo persiguen antes de regresar junto a sus compañeros y aceptar viajar a Cairhien.

Chapter 20 - Saidin

Rand travels with Selene and Loial, refusing to let them see the Horn of Valere or the Shadar Logoth dagger. At the Eye of the World, he is mesmerized by the crystal sphere and the song of saidin, entering a deep trance where he nearly channels uncontrollably before breaking the void and shouting a fragment of the Prophecies of the Dragon. He and his companions then ride to the village of Tremonsien and stop at the Nine Rings inn.

Chapter 21 - The Nine Rings

Rand arrives at the Nine Rings inn with Selene, Loial, and Hurin, where he interacts with Captain Caldevwin and plays the flute for the soldiers. He learns of Caldevwin's excavation project and is subsequently provided with an escort by Caldevwin, commanded by Tavolin, to travel to Cairhien after Selene's mysterious departure.

Chapter 25 - Cairhien

Rand entra en Cairhien, estudia la disposición de la ciudad y sus divisiones sociales, y se hospeda en una posada donde quema las invitaciones nobiliarias para declarar que no tiene parte en el Gran Juego. Se retira al Foregate y descubre a Thom Merrilin actuando allí, prometiendo regresar con su arpa y su flauta.

Chapter 26 - Discord

Rand rushes to meet Thom Merrilin, bringing him his harp and flute. He reveals the Horn of Valere to Thom, who initially laughs it off before taking it seriously. Rand questions Thom about the Karaethon Cycle and learns of Thom's nephew Owyn's fate. He eventually leaves Thom after Thom refuses to join his quest, warning him to keep a clean break.

Chapter 27 - The Shadow in the Night

Rand huye disfrazado de Trollocs por las calles de Cairhien, utilizando el Poder Único con dificultad antes de depender de una explosión de fuegos artificiales para eliminar a los perseguidores. Rescata a Selene y a Loial de la trampa, los guía para escapar del patio de los Iluminadores y más tarde lee una nota de Selene mientras se preocupa por sus amigos y el Cuerno.

Chapter 30 - Daes Dae’mar

Rand burns invitations from the King and Lord Barthanes to maintain neutrality in the Great Game, then struggles with frustration over Ingtar’s absence. He rescues an unconscious Hurin from the burning inn, retrieves his saddlebags containing the heron-mark sword banner, and collapses in the street upon seeing his friends and Ingtar arrive.

Chapter 31 - On the Scent

Rand / Rand al'Thor — aliases: Lord Rand of House al'Thor (Lord Rand de la Casa al'Thor)

Rand se reúne con sus amigos y ayuda a Hurin a levantarse del fuego. Quema las cartas de Selene en su chimenea antes de unirse al grupo en El Gran Árbol, donde acepta una invitación a la mansión del lord Barthanes y afirma su identidad como pastor ante Verin, declarando que su prioridad es recuperar el Cuerno y el puñal.

Chapter 32 - Dangerous Words

Rand enters Barthanes's manor, presenting himself as a lord to gain entry. He walks arrogantly to follow Verin's advice, engaging in tense, cryptic dialogue with Barthanes about his origins and the King of Andor. He evades the romantic advances of three noblewomen, spots Thom Merrilin, and, upon being summoned by Hurin with a pretext of a falling servant, follows Hurin away from the gathering.

Chapter 33 - A Message from the Dark

Rand / Rand al'Thor — aliases: Lord (Señor), Builder (Constructor)

Rand investiga el jardín amurallado con Hurin y Loial, escala la muralla y abre la Puerta de los Vientos, solo para ser confrontado por Machin Shin. Canaliza el Poder Único para cerrar la puerta, soportando la tensión física y mental de saidin. Luego recibe un mensaje amenazante de Fain a través de Barthanes y declara su intención de cabalgar hacia el Cabo Toman para seguirlo.

Chapter 35 - Stedding Tsofu

Rand rides into Stedding Tsofu, feeling a chill of refreshment and a sense of loss, and is introduced to Erith. He draws his heron-mark sword during the Aiel confrontation before sheathing it after Juni's intervention, and later discusses the implications of the Aiel's presence with Mat and Perrin.

Chapter 36 - Among the Elders

Rand accompanies the group into the Elders' chamber, feeling the weight of their authority and the absence of the stedding's peace outside. He advocates for Loial to join them, citing his friend's importance and ability to decipher Guidings. When the Waygate is opened and closed by Machin Shin, Rand identifies the Black Wind. He later agrees to find a Portal Stone in Kinslayer's Dagger to save Mat, driven by both desperation and an eager pull toward channeling saidin.

Chapter 37 - What Might Be

Rand — aliases: Dragon Reborn (Dragón Renacido)

Rand monta a Red hasta la Piedra del Portal y, bajo la instrucción de Verin, canaliza saidin para activarla, lo que lo sumerge en un flujo de visiones de vidas y muertes alternativas. Se desploma tras la descarga, revela que vivió y murió muchas veces en las visiones y se niega a aceptar la ayuda de Verin para ponerse en pie, para luego cabalgar hacia el oeste con sus amigos en busca de Fain.

Chapter 41 - Disagreements

Chapter 45 - Blademaster

Rand enters Falme with his companions, infiltrates High Lord Turak's house, and witnesses Egwene wearing a damane collar. He engages Turak in a sword duel, killing the High Lord with the River Undercuts the Bank form while maintaining the void to avoid channeling. He resolves to return for Egwene and flees with his group.

Chapter 47 - The Grave Is No Bar to My Call

Rand / Rand al'Thor — aliases: Lews Therin (Lews Therin), Dragon

Rand rides Red to the hill, learns Ingtar is dying, and decides to return to Falme to save Egwene. He watches Mat blow the Horn, sees the Heroes of the Horn appear, and rides into the mist to fight Ba'alzamon. He engages the Dark One's avatar in a spiritual duel, using the One Power and his sword to deliver a fatal blow while sustaining a mortal wound himself.

Chapter 48 - First Claiming

Rand / Rand al'Thor — aliases: Lews Therin Telamon, the Dragon Reborn, my fine Lord Shepherd

Rand lies sprawled unconscious under an oak, breathing raggedly and radiating icy coldness, with a melted hilt gripped in his hand and a burn wound on his side. He stirs and murmurs only when Lanfear appears above him, claiming him as hers before disappearing.

Chapter 49 - What Was Meant to Be

Rand / Dragon — aliases: Dragon Reborn (Dragón Renacido), Lord Dragon

Rand awakens from a days-long sleep to find his wound bound and his sword ruined, learning that his friends have left for Tar Valon. He rejects Moiraine's presence and his identity as the Dragon until Uno and Masema pledge their oaths to him, forcing him to accept his duty despite his resistance.
