Byar aparece junto a Bornhald como su segundo, erguido en su silla de montar y mostrando la misma luz fervorosa en sus ojos que los Inquisidores. Acompaña a Bornhald hasta el puente para supervisar el cruce de la legión.

Chapter 29 - Seanchan

Byar — aliases: Child of the Light

Byar accompanies Bornhald into the village, observing the hanging and defending the Children's actions with religious justification. He expresses discomfort when Bornhald reveals the involvement of children and the Questioners' hidden motives.

Chapter 44 - Five Will Ride Forth

Byar — aliases: Child Byar

Byar secures the village, receives orders from Bornhald to deliver reports to Pedron Niall, and obeys the command to stay out of combat against the Seanchan.

Chapter 48 - First Claiming

Byar galopa lejos de Falme con un propósito sombrío, tras haber sido testigo de la muerte de Bornhald y su legión. Decide llevar la noticia de la traición de los Amigos de la Sombra y los extraños signos en el cielo al propio Pedron Niall.
