Chapter 5 - The Shadow in Shienar

Siuan expresses her fear and frustration over the loss of control regarding the Pattern and the Dragon, examines the Horn of Valere and a broken seal of the Dark One, and confirms the identity of the young man in the courtyard as the Dragon Reborn.

Chapter 7 - Blood Calls Blood

The Amyrlin Seat presides over the private audience, expressing relief that Mat lives but concern over the dagger’s influence, and listens to Verin’s translation of the dungeon prophecy with growing unease before snapping at her for the insinuation that the Dragon is among them.

Chapter 8 - The Dragon Reborn

The Amyrlin Seat confronts Rand with the truth of his identity, declaring him the true Dragon Reborn destined to face the Shadow. She questions his channeling and his knowledge of false Dragons, eventually giving him leave to depart and allowing him to join Ingtar, while later expressing unease to her Aes Sedai companions about the necessity of their actions.

Chapter 18 - To the White Tower

The Amyrlin Seat arrives in Tar Valon and is greeted by a delegation of shawled Aes Sedai, but she leaves Egwene and Nynaeve to fend for themselves until Sheriam, the Mistress of Novices, arrives to guide them. Earlier, the Amyrlin had demonstrated her mastery of the One Power by manipulating air to immobilize Nynaeve and shielding her from the True Source, proving her authority. Sheriam confirms that the Amyrlin instructed Nynaeve to be raised directly to the Accepted, a rare precedent, while Egwene begins her noviceship.
