Nynaeve sits knitting in Egwene's room, explaining the situation to Rand and expressing concern about the sealed gates and the search for him. She warns Rand about the dangers of naming the Dark One and later prepares for the feast.
Chapter 8 - The Dragon Reborn

Nynaeve senses an unusual storm and frantically searches for Rand after his audience with the Amyrlin. She encounters Lan, who gives her a royal ring, and then confronts Moiraine, accusing the Aes Sedai of manipulating both her and Rand while asserting her own resolve to learn the Power.
Chapter 12 - Woven in the Pattern

Nynaeve joins Egwene in the Amyrlin's procession, undergoes channeling training with Verin where she accidentally sets blankets on fire, and boards the River Queen in Medo.
Chapter 18 - To the White Tower
Nynaeve — aliases: Wisdom
Nynaeve suffers from seasickness and a heated exchange with the Amyrlin Seat regarding her channeling potential. After being forcibly restrained and shielded during a lesson, she arrives in Tar Valon shocked to learn she is to be an Accepted rather than a full sister.
Chapter 23 - The Testing
Nynaeve / Nynaeve al'Maera
Nynaeve undergoes the Acceptance testing, entering the ter'angreal three times to face visions of Aginor, a corrupted Emond's Field, and a life with Lan Mandragoran. She channels the Power to defeat Aginor and forces herself to leave the other visions, emerging from the final trial with thorn scars on her hands and tears on her face before kneeling before the Amyrlin Seat.
Chapter 38 - Practice
Nynaeve — aliases: child
Nynaeve paces anxiously in Egwene’s room before accidentally summoning a wind. She admits her fear of channeling to the others and, after Liandrin recruits them, agrees to go to Toman Head. As the group decides to go, Nynaeve turns to practicalities, discussing what they must take and how to get their horses.
Chapter 39 - Flight from the White Tower

Nynaeve leads the escape, intimidating the stableman with her Serpent ring and threatening him with Liandrin's name. She rides her gray mare through the Ways, questions the nature of the Black Wind, and shares a moment of humor with Egwene before falling silent in the oppressive dark.
Chapter 40 - Damane

Nynaeve escapes the Seanchan ambush by using lightning and fire to create a diversion and hiding in the brush. After reuniting with Elayne, she resolves to pursue the Seanchan to Falme to rescue Egwene and Min, advising Elayne to change their clothes to blend in with the local population.
Chapter 42 - Falme

Nynaeve and Elayne stalk the streets of Falme, observing Seanchan patrols and the collared damane, while Nynaeve spots a figure resembling Padan Fain. She steals apples from Elayne to quell her hunger, discusses the hopeless situation with Elayne, and settles into a crate to watch the entrance of the buildings housing the damane, planning how to break the collars and rescue her friends.
Chapter 43 - A Plan

Nynaeve tracks down Min and Elayne, dismissing the need for swords in favor of brains. At the inn, she confidently reveals her Aes Sedai ring to Bayle Domon to secure passage for her and her friends, masking her anxiety about his refusal by projecting absolute certainty and offering an alternative to the damane requirement.
Chapter 45 - Blademaster

Nynaeve orchestrates the capture of a sul'dam named Seta, using her anger and the a'dam's connection to coerce the woman into service. She dons the sul'dam's dress and bracelet, uses the collar to torment Seta for information, and leads Elayne and Min in a plan to infiltrate the damane holding area.
