Padan Fain waits in the darkness of his dungeon cell, grinning and whispering that the battle is never over. He stands when the door opens, feeling blood race through his veins as a figure enters.

Padan Fain, now dominant over his Trollocs and Darkfriends, commands the slaughter of villagers to slow the pursuers. He asserts control over the surviving humans, who beg for mercy, and prepares to open an ornate chest while vowing to catch Rand.
Chapter 19 - Beneath the Dagger
Fain
Fain wakes to discover the Horn of Valere is missing from his camp and screams for his Trollocs and Darkfriends to find Rand. He stands over his fire, realizing a dark connection pulls him toward the mountains and vowing that Rand and the world will pay for the theft.
