Appearing in Perrin's dream, Ba'alzamon enters the kitchen, ignores the axe, and burns a wolf to ash with fire from his eyes. He claims Perrin as his own and throws a raven that pierces Perrin's eye in the nightmare.

Chapter 43 - Decisions and Apparitions

Ba'alzamon — aliases: Dark One

Ba'alzamon appears in a lucid dream to Rand and Mat, revealing that he knows their past lives and identities. He offers them power and dominion in exchange for kneeling to him, mocking their denial and revealing the existence of the Black Ajah before the dream shatters.

Chapter 51 - Against the Shadow

Ba'alzamon — aliases: the Lord of the Grave (Der Herr des Grabes), the Father of Lies (Der Vater der Lüge)

Ba'alzamon erscheint im zerstörten Palast von Lews Therin Telamon und verspottet Rand mit Wahrheiten über seine Vergangenheit und die Futility seines Widerstands. Er beschwört Halluzinationen von Rands Mutter Kari und anderen herauf, um Rands Entschlossenheit zu brechen, doch als Rand die Illusion mit der Klinge des Lichts tötet, weicht Ba'alzamon voller Angst zurück. Rand durchtrennt daraufhin Ba'alzamons Machtband, was dazu führt, dass dieser schreit, während seine Verbindung zerstört wird.

Ba'alzamon floats in the chamber, commanding the gathered followers of the Dark One. He reveals the Dragon Reborn has appeared and projects the images of Rand, Mat, and Perrin, ordering the assembly to hunt them and giving Bors specific instructions.
