Perrin segue Mat dalla partita a dadi, con le spalle curve e gli occhi mutati in un giallo scintillante. Rimane in silenzio durante lo scatto d'ira di Rand e annuisce per andarsene con Mat dopo l'intervento di Loial.
Chapter 7 - Blood Calls Blood
Perrin — aliases: blacksmith (fabbro)
Perrin visita Mat nell'infermeria e viene fermato da Leane, che gli esamina gli occhi e ne nota l'inusuale colore dorato. In seguito affronta Rand riguardo alla loro separazione, esprimendo la sua confusione e il suo dolore prima di andarsene. Lan poi veste Rand con abiti formali e gli impartisce istruzioni sul protocollo per l'udienza con la Sedia di Amyrlin.
Chapter 11 - Glimmers of the Pattern

Perrin osserva lo stendardo e ascolta la confessione di Rand, consigliandogli di fuggire e seppellire lo stendardo, poi si allontana per tornare al campo con un senso di presagio.
Chapter 14 - Wolfbrother
Perrin — aliases: sniffer (cane da fiuto), Young Bull
Perrin connects mentally with the wolf pack, receiving their fury at Trollocs and Fain’s scent, then reports the tracking data to Ingtar. He conceals his true abilities by adopting the guise of a new sniffer, enduring Mat’s skepticism while forcing himself to suppress the wolves' desire to kill the Darkfriends.
Chapter 28 - A New Thread in the Pattern

Perrin shares the wolves' reports of the Shadowkiller with Ingtar and struggles to suppress the wolves' thoughts in his mind. He observes the Aiel Urien closely, gripping his axe when the Aiel becomes tense, and notes the symbol Urien draws on the ground.

Perrin follows Mat to the scene of the fire, his eyes shining yellow as he looks around the crowd.
Chapter 31 - On the Scent

Perrin spiega come Verin abbia ottenuto l'accesso alla caserma della guardia e aiuta Rand ad alzarsi. Gioca a dadi con Ingtar nella locanda, osservando i cambiamenti nelle dinamiche del gruppo e l'atteggiamento sempre più sicuro di Rand, mentre nutre i propri pensieri segreti di essere il Uccisore dell'Ombra.
Chapter 33 - A Message from the Dark

Perrin è presente nella sala da pranzo dell'osteria, leggendo e osservando la disperazione del gruppo. Accetta di unirsi alla caccia a Fain verso Toman Head, scherzando sul fatto che deve accompagnare Mat per tenerlo lontano dai guai.

Perrin rides into the stedding and asks Loial questions about the stedding before half-drawing his axe during the Aiel confrontation and lowering it. He later speculates that the Aiel are searching for Rand and listens to Rand's musings on marriage customs.
Chapter 37 - What Might Be
Perrin
Perrin stands with his fingers dug into his face to remove what he has seen, dropping his hands after the surge to ask where they are. He confirms with Rand that they are in Toman Head and notes that they have few choices in their lives regardless of what they do.
Chapter 41 - Disagreements
Perrin
Perrin si chiede perché Fain abbia portato il Corno alla costa e in seguito concorda con Mat sul fatto che la priorità sia tracciare le orme di Hurin, affermando che andrà dove andrà Rand, ma riconoscendo la necessità di trovare Fain tramite l'olfatto.

Perrin wears borrowed, ill-fitting clothes and observes villagers avoiding strangers before spotting the Children of the Light; he contacts wolves to scout the town, confirming the Whitecloaks are surrounding the village, and reports this to his companions.
Chapter 45 - Blademaster

Perrin follows Rand into Turak's house and helps fight the Seanchan soldiers using his axe. He observes Egwene from a distance, confirming she is wearing a collar, and agrees to flee with the group while expressing distress at leaving her behind.
Chapter 47 - The Grave Is No Bar to My Call
Perrin
Perrin urges caution and points out the approaching armies. He dismounts to tie the Dragon's banner to a pole, which he carries into the mist. He rides forward into the battle.
Chapter 49 - What Was Meant to Be

Perrin stands at a campfire, observing the scene. He confirms his decision to stay with Rand, acknowledging the tight weave of the Pattern that binds them together.
