Chapter 1 - The Flame of Tar Valon
Lan / Lan Mandragoran — aliases: Warder, Lord of the Seven Towers, Lord of the Lakes, uncrowned King of Malkier
Lan trains Rand, explaining the history of Aes Sedai-made weapons and his heritage as the uncrowned King of Malkier. He notes Rand's hesitation to leave and observes the approaching Aes Sedai procession, warning Rand before disappearing into the tower.
Chapter 6 - Dark Prophecy

Lan trova Rand nel corridoio e lo informa che Moiraine lo ha esentato dall'ordine di chiusura, permettendogli di lasciare Fal Dara immediatamente. Fa un commento sull'attenzione che Rand sta ricevendo dalle donne del castello.
Chapter 7 - Blood Calls Blood
Lan — aliases: Warder
Lan summons Rand for an audience with the Amyrlin Seat, dresses him in silk and a formal coat, and instructs him on proper protocol. He gives Rand a pin from Manetheren to help him maintain his pride and appear respectable.
Chapter 8 - The Dragon Reborn

Lan guida Rand attraverso gli appartamenti femminili, insegnandogli la postura e il protocollo corretti per entrare alla presenza dell'Amyrlin. Più tardi, incontra Nynaeve in un corridoio, donandole un pesante anello sigillo d'oro dei re Malkieri e giurando di aiutarla, prima di partire con il seguito dell'Amyrlin.
Chapter 12 - Woven in the Pattern

Chapter 22 - Watchers

Moiraine riflette sul fatto che Nynaeve ha fatto crepare le mura di Lan e ha intrecciato fiori nuziali nei suoi capelli.
