Tam rides at the head of the group with Abell, explaining the abandoned farms and the presence of Trollocs. At the al'Seen farm, he is recognized by the locals and listens to the questions regarding the Whitecloaks, remaining silent when Adine Lewin spreads rumors about him and Abell.

Tam al'Thor enters the common room with a sword belted over his farm coat, accompanied by Abell. He joins the group and later tells Perrin's young friends a fabricated story about Rand and Mat to satisfy their curiosity, claiming Rand was with a pretty girl and Mat was carousing in taverns.
