Rhodric, a nearly twenty-year-old Aiel warrior, watches the Jenn Aiel retreat toward the Dragonwall. He interacts with Garam, a townsman on horseback, learning that Garam's father has not withdrawn permission for the Jenn to take water, the Jenn's Aes Sedai advisors, and the plan to build a city, before preparing to cross the mountains with Jeordam.
