Mandarb is Lan’s stallion. He moves at a faster pace than the others, galloping ahead to scout and covering twice as much ground as the rest of the party.

Mandarb, Lan's horse, is ridden by Lan to lead the group out of the city gates.
Chapter 18 - The Caemlyn Road
Mandarb
Mandarb is Lan's black stallion, which plunges down the slope to charge the Myrddraal. It matches step and stroke with the Myrddraal's black horse in a clear circle, and later staggers under the ground's tremors before galloping north.
Chapter 19 - Shadow’s Waiting

Mandarb is brought into the safehouse and left standing as the group gathers, serving as Lan's mount.
Chapter 21 - Listen to the Wind
Mandarb
Mandarb is Lan's black warhorse. He is dismounted by Lan during the conversation and later has his saddlebags and blankets fastened behind the saddle as the group prepares to ride south.
Chapter 28 - Footprints in Air
Mandarb
Mandarb is Lan's stallion, ridden by the Warder as he leads the group across the bridge and through the streets of Whitebridge.
Chapter 44 - The Dark Along the Ways
Mandarb
Mandarb stands arrogantly in the stable, waits for Lan, and steps into the alleyway. He balks slightly before stepping into the Waygate's shimmering surface, vanishing into the dark.
Chapter 45 - What Follows in Shadow

Mandarb is Lan's stallion. He leaps toward the gate, catches the stone wedge with his shoulder to topple it, and carries Lan through the Waygate to the outside.
Chapter 46 - Fal Dara
Mandarb
Mandarb is Lan's black stallion, ridden into Fal Dara. He is led by Lan through the gates and into the fortress, where he is dismounted.
