Chapter 7 - Out of the Woods

Crouching beside the Trolloc corpse, Lan removes its shoulder badge and notes the number of bands present. He glares at Rand for hurrying Moiraine and expresses skepticism about Rand's worth, though Moiraine silences him with a gentle touch before they follow Rand to the inn.

Lan questions Rand about the sword and the sighting of the rider, confirming the attacker was a Myrddraal. He explains the targeted nature of the attack, noting which farms were spared, and advises Rand on the dangers of fleeing to cities like Caemlyn.
