Described by Ailhuin Guenna as the most dangerous man she knows and the best thief-catcher in Tear, Juilin is introduced as the person who will be hired to find the Black Ajah sisters and retrieve their stolen belongings.

Chapter 49 - A Storm in Tear

Juilin negotiates his fee with Nynaeve, accepting thirteen silver marks to find the thirteen women. He listens to their descriptions, acknowledges the danger of the Darkfriends, and departs to begin his search, warning that he will be summoned by the High Lords soon.

Juilin Sandar nervously warns Nynaeve that the Black Ajah are guests of High Lord Samon in the Stone. He is physically abused by Liandrin to force his compliance.

Chapter 54 - Into the Stone

Juilin Sandar konfrontiert Mat auf dem Dach, enthüllt, dass er ebenfalls versucht, in den Stein einzudringen, und stimmt zu, Mat zu den Zellen zu führen, indem er vortäuscht, ihn als Dieb festzunehmen, und kämpft an Mat's Seite gegen die Verteidiger des Steins.

Juilin wartet vor dem Zimmer und versucht, den Flur hinunterzublicken. Er betritt den Raum hinter Mat und warnt die Frauen, dass Amico eine Aes Sedai ist. Er erklärt, dass Liandrin mit ihm gesprochen habe und er sie verraten musste. Er zeigt Mat, was ihm das Sprechen eingebracht hat, und folgt ihm hinaus, wobei er zugibt, kein Narr zu sein.
