Arriving at Rand's chambers, Moiraine heals his wounds using Callandor and instructs him to channel without success. She explains the phenomenon of taint 'bubbles' leaking from Shayol Ghul and the increased susceptibility of ta'veren, then departs to give Rand privacy.

Chapter 6 - Doorways
Moiraine — aliases: Aes Sedai
Moiraine ends the questioning by ordering the Captain to transport Joiya and Amico to Tar Valon, warning that they will face the gallows if they do not speak the truth. She reveals her plan to have Rand attack Illian to confront Sammael and solidify his rule, and discloses the presence of a dangerous ter'angreal doorframe in the Great Holding that can provide three answers but carries severe risks for those who use it.
Chapter 10 - The Stone Stands

Moiraine and Lan are briefly surrounded by Trollocs in a colonnade but escape. She finds Rand after his use of Callandor, shocked by his power and too wary to approach him until he is safe. She informs him that his friends are alive and explains Lanfear's likely motives, urging Rand to sleep.
Chapter 12 - Tanchico or the Tower

Moiraine interrupts the group to announce that Joiya and Amico were killed by the Black Ajah and delivers a letter from four Wise Ones commanding Aviendha to come to Rhuidean. She asserts that the Wise Ones' commands must be followed and informs the women that Rand will reveal his plans the next day.
Chapter 15 - Into the Doorway

Moiraine Sedai steps out of thin air near the ter'angreal, furious that both Mat and Rand entered the dangerous artifact. She warns them about the risk of tearing the connection to the Pattern and asks if Perrin was involved. She clarifies that the beings feed on sensations and confirms their answers regarding their personal futures are true but often obscure, offering to help interpret them before leaving them to their thoughts.
