Verin guida il gruppo a cavallo, mantenendo un comportamento calmo mentre percepisce l'avvicinarsi dei guai. Ferma Hurin dall'attaccare, parla con l'ufficiale dei Whitecloak e in seguito rimprovera furiosamente Egwene, Nynaeve ed Elayne per aver usato il Potere come arma contro gli esseri umani.

Chapter 11 - Tar Valon

Verin leads the group through the Whitecloak-guarded streets of Darein and across the bridge to Tar Valon, displaying calm authority and suspicion of the political climate. She silences Egwene's questions, orders Mat's sack to be secured, and negotiates the group's confinement with Sheriam, rushing to see the Amyrlin Seat immediately.

Chapter 12 - The Amyrlin Seat

Verin enters Siuan’s study with a leather sack and delivers urgent news from Falme. She reveals that Rand al'Thor is the true Dragon and presents the Horn of Valere, explaining that Mat Cauthon sounded it but is dying from a Shadar Logoth dagger. She warns Siuan about the potential return of the Seanchan and their use of the One Power in battle, then is asked to report on the actions of the runaway sisters.

Chapter 18 - Healing

Verin stands among the Aes Sedai assisting in the Healing. She observes the flow of the Old Blood in Mat with fascination and confers quietly with Serafelle about the nature of the events.

Chapter 21 - A World of Dreams

Verin mostrò a Egwene una fragile pagina riguardante Ba'alzamon e Ishamael, spiegò la teoria dei mondi paralleli e di Tel'aran'rhiod, e diede a Egwene un anello ter'angreal per aiutarla a dominare il Sognare. Dopo che Egwene se ne andò, Verin recuperò le note di Corianin Nedeal sull'anello e considerò di distruggerle, ma scelse di conservare la conoscenza.
