Galad entra nella stanza di Nynaeve insieme al fratello Gawyn, agendo come scorta di Elayne su ordine della loro madre. Parla con garbo a Egwene e Nynaeve, sminuendo il pericolo della Torre Bianca e insistendo sul loro dovere di proteggere Elayne, mantenendo un contegno sicuro e affascinante che distrae momentaneamente Egwene e Nynaeve.

Galad trains with a practice sword alongside Gawyn, displaying skill against various opponents. He initially refuses Mat's wager on moral grounds but accepts it when pressed. He fights Mat fiercely with a sword but is ultimately defeated by the quarterstaff, sustaining hits that require the attention of Green Ajah Aes Sedai.
