Egwene al’Vere
Egwene teme di perdere la propria libertà e scorge Tar Valon in lontananza prima di avvertire un pericolo. Quando i Whitecloaks le bloccano il passo, canala saidar per creare esplosioni di terra che disperdono gli attaccanti, poi si scusa con l'ufficiale ferito prima di essere rimproverata da Verin per l'uso impulsivo del Potere.
Chapter 11 - Tar Valon

Egwene rides into Tar Valon with her companions, feeling a sense of loss at Hurin's departure and anxiety about the political fallout from her use of the Power. She attempts to speak to Verin but is silenced by Verin's stern warning, then follows Sheriam's orders to retreat to her quarters while trying to remain calm in the face of potential punishment.
Chapter 13 - Punishments

Egwene languishes in her windowless novice room, contemplating the possibility of being stilled and discussing escape plans with Elayne. She is led to the Amyrlin’s study, where she listens as the Amyrlin announces her promotion to Accepted and her assignment to kitchen work, accepting the punishment with relief that it is not worse.

Chapter 15 - The Gray Man

She remains mostly silent during the confrontation with Galad and Gawyn, blushing at Galad's attention, before joining the discussion about the Black Ajah and Mat's healing. She expresses alarm at the possibility of the Amyrlin letting Mat die and suggests combining their power to heal him.
Chapter 17 - The Red Sister

Egwene stands with Nynaeve and Elayne, struggling to maintain her composure under Elaida's scrutiny. She lies partially about her journey to protect the Amyrlin and the mission. She is led away by Sheriam, feeling the weight of the ongoing tension within the Tower.
Chapter 18 - Healing

Egwene cammina attraverso i corridoi buoi della Torre Bianca con Nynaeve ed Elayne, provando terrore per l'Aia Nera e la gravità delle condizioni di Mat. Nella camera di guarigione, stringe le mani delle sue amiche, osservando le Aes Sedai e l'immensa potenza del sa'angreal. Osserva in orrore mentre Mat si dibatte contro la Guarigione, urlando grida di battaglia in Lingua Antica, e ascolta Siuan spiegare la natura dei suoi ricordi delle vite passate prima di essere licenziato per lavori in cucina.
Chapter 21 - A World of Dreams

Egwene si pulì il grasso dalle mani dopo i lavori della giornata e si affrettò verso gli appartamenti di Verin, sopra la biblioteca. Ascoltò la spiegazione di Verin sui mondi paralleli e sull'unificazione del Tenebroso attraverso di essi, quindi ricevette un grande anello di pietra contorto che facilitava l'accesso a Tel'aran'rhiod, prima di riprendere le sue incombenze.
Chapter 22 - The Price of the Ring

Egwene attraversa gli archi dell'iniziazione, sopportando visioni delle sue paure e dei suoi futuri, e viene catturata e immobilizzata dalla Black Ajah dopo la visione in cui si vede come Amyrlin Seat. Fugge dai suoi catturatori, trova Beldeine e si precipita alla Corte dei Traditori per salvare Rand, solo per rientrare nell'arco per affrontare la minaccia del Dark One.

Chapter 26 - Behind a Lock

Egwene searches empty rooms and corridors, losing track of Selene before rejoining her friends. She channels Earth and Fire to help Nynaeve open a locked door and then assists in searching the bags of stolen goods, noting the clues pointing to Tear.
Chapter 27 - Tel’aran’rhiod
Egwene
Egwene enters Tel'aran'rhiod via a stone ring, viewing visions of Perrin and Rand before forcing the ring to reveal the sword Callandor and an old woman named Silvie. After a painful attack in the dream, she returns to her body and shares the intelligence regarding Callandor and Tear with Nynaeve and Elayne, deciding to leave the White Tower with them.
Chapter 28 - A Way Out

Egwene al'Vere visita Mat insieme a Nynaeve ed Elayne per organizzare la sua fuga. Cerca di far leva sul senso di colpa e di convincere Mat a consegnare la lettera di Elayne, fingendo divertimento quando Mat fa una battuta sulla logica femminile, e infine gli presenta l'ordine falsificato dell'Amyrlin che gli permette di lasciare la Torre Bianca.
Chapter 29 - A Trap to Spring

Egwene observes the destruction along the Cairhien shore and reflects on her dreams, which she realizes may portend a Gray Man hunting Mat. She argues with Nynaeve and Elayne about the practicalities of their journey and the need to defend themselves, eventually agreeing to walk ashore at Jurene when the ship is disabled.
Chapter 38 - Maidens of the Spear

Egwene channels saidar to defend herself and her friends upon encountering the Aiel, then learns of their customs through confused dialogue with Bain and Chiad. She observes Nynaeve's healing of Dailin with awe, noting the Weaver's skill with the Power and the Aiel's fear of flowing water.
Chapter 39 - Threads in the Pattern

She rides with her companions to find lodging, observes the impoverished state of the city, and witnesses Nynaeve’s herbal knowledge tested alongside Ailhuin, eventually earning a sharp rebuke and a slap from Elayne for criticizing Nynaeve's deception of the Wisdom.
Chapter 49 - A Storm in Tear

Egwene listens to Juilin Sandar's negotiation with Nynaeve and later enters Tel'aran'rhiod by visualizing the Heart of the Stone. Inside the dream, she sees thirteen women, including Liandrin, gathered around the floating sword Callandor before suddenly returning to her body to warn her friends.
Chapter 51 - Bait for the Net

Egwene is found crumpled and bruised on the floor of the Wisdom's house after being captured. She is hoisted over a soldier's shoulder and placed into the coach with Nynaeve and Elayne, her head lolling in a limp heap.
Chapter 54 - Into the Stone

Egwene al'Vere uses the twisted stone ring to enter Tel'aran'rhiod, finds Joiya Byir near Callandor, shields her from the Source, and beats her with Air to exact revenge and secure their escape, realizing she has learned to weave independent flows of power.
Chapter 55 - What Is Written in Prophecy

Egwene navigates the dreaming Stone of Tear, breaking a large iron lock with Earth and finding empty cells. She locates the dreaming Amico Nagoyin, shields her from the One Power using thick flows of Spirit and Air, and opens her cell door. She wakes up in her physical body to find Nynaeve and Elayne have freed themselves, and she attempts to shield Amico again before Mat Cauthon arrives.
