Heirn, the leader of the second Aiel camp, explains that he brought men to protect Rhuarc from Couladin's faction. He follows Rhuarc's lead in walking away toward the smaller encampment after the Wise Ones dismiss the men.

Chapter 36 - Misdirections

Heirn, the sept chief of the Aiel, rides with Rhuarc at the front of the column. He looks grim upon seeing the peddlers and curtly explains to Mat that peddlers and gleemen are welcome to the Aiel, avoiding any mention of the Tinkers.

Chapter 37 - Imre Stand

Heirn arrives at Imre Stand, attempts to buy Two Rivers tobacco from the peddlers, and later eats at Rand's fire with the clan chiefs.

Chapter 49 - Cold Rocks Hold

Heirn follows Rhuarc into the hold, asking Roofmistress Lian for leave to come beneath her roof. He is welcomed warmly and claps Rhuarc on the shoulder before rejoining his people.
