Demira Eriff is attacked by Aiel in a Caemlyn alleyway but survives the assault. Waking in her room after being healed, she suggests to the Aes Sedai embassy that they feign ignorance of the attack to psychologically pressure Rand al'Thor rather than confronting him openly.
