Summary
Furyk Karede arrives at a Seanchan camp in east central Altara with his Deathwatch Guards and Ogier Gardeners to track the missing High Lady Tuon. He enters the command tent, clears out the officers, and shares kaf with Banner-General Gamel Loune, who describes recent devastating ambushes by an elusive enemy using crossbows and damane. Karede deduces Thom Merrilin is likely behind the raids and learns that General Chisen is bringing reinforcements through the Malvide Narrows. After a polite exchange, Karede departs northeast toward the narrows, resolved to reach Tuon before she can be moved further.
