Prologue

Pedron Niall — aliases: Lord Captain Commander, the Lord Captain Commander

Pedron Niall plays stones with Morgase and receives a message from Faisar confirming the danger of Rand al'Thor. He is assassinated by his spymaster, Abdel Omerna, who kills him after revealing his loyalty to the 'Prophet' Rand al'Thor. His body is discovered by Eamon Valda, who kills Omerna and assumes command of the Children of the Light.
