Invites him to hunt in the wolf dream, stops him from killing the white stag, and teaches him that the hunt is done while forcing acceptance of necessary control.

Chapter 18 - The Strength of This Place

Guides Perrin through mental defense exercises, emphasizing the need to balance dream presence with human grounding. The wolf practices sudden attacks to test Perrin's focus before vanishing when a strange violet wall appears, later resuming their training with renewed caution.

Chapter 24 - To Make a Stand

Hopper

Guides Perrin through dream training, teaches him to control himself rather than blame the wolves, leads him to Dragonmount where many wolves gather, and ends their session to mourn Morninglight.

Chapter 28 - Oddities

Hopper

Appears in the wolf dream to guide Perrin toward a mysterious violet dome on the Jehannah Road. He explains that mental control and identity are key to navigating the dreamspace, then collapses after testing the barrier's edge.

Chapter 30 - Men Dream Here

Hopper

Guides Perrin through the wolf dream, teaches him to master his environment and walk on water, leads him into a fear-dream to test his strength, and later watches with him as wolves gather over Dragonmount to declare the Last Hunt has begun.

Chapter 33 - A Good Soup

Hopper

Observes Perrin's growing strength in the wolf dream, warns him about Slayer's capabilities, and remains behind as other wolves run north to join the Last Hunt.

Chapter 35 - The Right Thing

Hopper

Enters the wolf dream with Perrin, assists in breaching the dome, attacks Slayer, and is thrown aside by the Forsaken during the fight.

Chapter 37 - Darkness in the Tower

Hopper

Tackles Slayer to aid Perrin, is thrown from the Tower and fatally wounded by an arrow, and sends final thoughts to Perrin before fading.

Chapter 38 - Wounds

Hopper

Fades away after sending a final message to Perrin about Boundless, his consciousness extinguished in the wolf dream.
