Galina endures brutal torture in a heated sack before being offered a chance to swear an oath of obedience to the Wise Ones to stop the pain. She swears the oath on the Oath Rod to avoid Therava's wrath, only to find herself bound to obey all present, and then scurries after Therava in despair.
